I'm really indecisive about which one I should buy, because they're both quite similar...

I don't usually call people, mainly sms and I already have a 12 megapixel camera. My current phone is the Nokia navigator.

iphone tends to suck as a phone (bad service, no picture messaging, no custom wallpaper (you can have screensaver though))

while the viewty lags like crap.... but it works as a phone.



I'd say keep looking, but if you really HAVE to get one of these phones,
get the viewty.

I think the iphone still, because I love that it has wifi and you can organize your music/pictures/videos better. Also the screen is bigger. I love big screens, its really important when I choose a phone.

I heard the viewty had haptic technology and kind of works like one. Its prettier, esp the pink one.

Wouldn't the 8gig be cheaper? Well if you have AT&T...

Get the Viewty.

I really hate iPhones.

The scroll function on my LG Viewety stopped working a week after I purchased it. And texting with it is pretty hard and time-consuming. No more touch-screen phones for me.

This is crazy. You're just like me.
I had to decide between the iPhone 3G vs. LG Viewty.
So, not to sound cocky, but I've had experiences with BOTH phones.

So... I'm your best bet here.

People that said "iPhone" haven't given your hardcore reasons since they never used both the iPhone AND the Viewty.
I just so happen to have used both in the last few months.

Touch screen qualities and APPs
I have to admit, the iPhone is the better phone as a touch phone.
The Apps, the comfortable scrolling-- this is the way a touch phone should be.
The phone doesn't freeze up or take a millisecond to react to your touches, it does it immediately.
I find it sort of difficult to scroll using the viewty. That could be because I put a screen protector but I don't want to be scratching up my phone.
When I scroll on the viewty, it's not easy. I usually accidently click RATHER than scroll.

Money issues
But in the long run, comparing how much money you have to pay for the iPhone for 2 years, CRAZY.
Definitely NOT WORTH IT. and I'm not even paying for my plan (my sister is paying for me)
and... seriously, it's wayyyy too much for this phone. It's not as good as everyone says it is.
Maybe if the plans were cheaper and such, then I would say it's better than the Viewty.

Texting and Keyboard
I text quite often and the iphone text mofo-ing SUCKS. I have very lady like fingers and still... it's so hard.
The viewty can span the keyboard for text in landscape style whereas the iPhone doesn't.

Sound quality in a call and ringtone
The sound quality is better phone talking on the phone (however, the mp3 isn't as great as the iPhone)
I use my cellphone as an alarm clock.
iPhone-- low volume... it can't even wake up a baby... you cannot turn off the phone and have the alarm activate. It just doesn't work. Which sucks. You have to put it in airplane mode to block out service and conserve energy for the battery.
Viewty-- LOUD butt ringtone... alarm could wake up my parents in the next room. etc.


Haptic Feedback
Plus, there's NO haptic feedback on the iPhone (which I'm used to by now) and it's hard for me to know if I actually pressed the button.

Internet queries
HOWEVER,
If you're the type that likes to go online and stuff, iPhone 3G internet sucks. It's not as fast as they advertise.
It could be my location, but that's so fricken dumb. I'm getting unlimited internet access so I expect it to be as fast, if not, faster than my DSL (and it doesn't come close)
But, the LG Viewty internet... oh my god, sucks. It's slowER than the iPhone's internet and dial up. No joke.

Size
Both sizes are obscenely big for a phone.
iPhone has a big screen... which means WIDE. it's hard to use the phone w/ one hand without worrying that it could fall out of your hand.
Viewty--THICK. small screen but that doesn't bother me much. Compact width to fit in the hand.

Popularity
I kind of don't like seeing people have the same phone as me.
Viewty turn heads while iPhone... doesn't.
I have yet to find someone in my school or on the NYC streets who has the Viewty.
Everyone on a NYC subway, I could pick out ten people in a single cart that has the iPhone.

I mean, honestly, both phones have drawbacks.
But considering the situation as of right now, such as pricing and minor glitches in both phones
... Viewty is the better phone
If the hot pink one was available in the states, then it should be elected the next president.

IN CONCLUSION
Anyways, my sister and I are both returning the iPhone to the Apple store.
It just isn't worth it.

But if you don't care much about the 5 mp camera on the Viewty (which isn't all that and a bag of chips)
Don't get the Viewty.
But that doesn't mean you should get the iPhone since it's seriously SO generic considering the price.
When did everyone get rich to afford the plan? LOL.

You should take a look at the LG Prada phone.
It looks better, slimmer, not much people have it, quite chic
but it's sad that the price is slightly cheaper than the viewty when it's obviously an older model

i hate apple...with a passion but the iphone would be best for you.

the viewty is a camera....phone. lol but you already have the cam and no need of the phone. at least get an mp3 player out of it. just don't hope to send pic mail because the iphone won't let you.

and don't listen to people tell you to get a prada...i've had it. looks aside, it's a crap phone that feels like a toy. yeah it's damn sexy....but you're paying for the name of prada and that alone. if you wanna go with the LG line...look for whats newer and coming up.

Well, I just bought a LG Viewty for my brother.

And in a few days I'm getting the Iphone.

The LG Viewty is great, I don't know about the Iphone yet

I'm going to write later when I get my hands on the Iphone

Well just got my iPhone and I have to say that I prefer the iPhone.

But this really depends on what type you are. Do you want an expensive phone with features like Wi-fi, iPod, watch movies, etc.
or a cool phone that has touchscreen, and normal features just like a cellphone (plus it's more cheap)?

My sister has Sony Ericsson CyberShot K850 which has 3 buttons on the screen, so you need to youch the screen to activate it. She likes the features on the iPhone, but just hate the touchscreen and how you're all dependent on it.... don't know what she's talking about

Iphone for the winning, I tried my friends viewty and it's basically a copied of the iphone. The reason why people "hate" iphone is because their wallet does not like it and don't want to follow to majority of the people. Once they have an apple product, they will love it.
I started with a mac>Ipod>Iphone I love each and everyone of them.

I'm sorry but that's the dumbest thing i've read today. The Viewty is NOT a clone of the iphone..... like abusegirl has stated the iphone is only good for the 3g ..... which i find useless, mobile internet isn't that great. I would not recommend either phones (iphone AND viewty).

Melitus, the iphone is not even that expensive so yes my wallet CAN afford to pay for a unlocked no contract iphone 3g. The iphone is so hyped because of apple's marketing that's all. I've had both iphones 1 and 3g as well as the viewty....

Well I've got both BEFORE. Since i lost my LG viewty and bought the iphone.

LG Viewty VS iPhone

1. I prefer LG's camera over iPhone just because it is 5MP! and It has Slow Video Capture on it. Although the camera settings are annoying because you have to save them one by one and you can't turn off the Camera Sounds on the Viewty. Which makes my stalking difficult ):

2. I prefer iPhone's touchscreen over Viewty because I find the iPhone more sensitive to touch than the Viewty. (I had some problems with the Viewty's touchscreen, Fixed and still had problems)

3. I prefer the iPhone over the Viewty for transferring files, etc. Just because my LG PC Suite keeps HANGING.

4. I prefer the iPhone over the Viewty because it has more memory in it. The Viewty's max is 2GB but you can increase to 4GB but the Viewty will read as 2GB until you reach the cap of 2GB it'll read 2.1GB ++

5. I prefer the Viewty over the iPhone because you can actually "hack" the Viewty's factory settings and increase the output volume to REALLY REALLY loud. XD Just don't do it till you burst the speakers.

6. I prefer the iPhone because they have 3.5mm headset jacks!! I hate to keep using the LG plug then plug in my headset into the LG plug.

7. I prefer the iPhone because the iPhone has an accelerometer, you can actually have fun with that thing. o_o

8. I prefer the iPhone because it accepts more games than the Viewty.


Overall, I think both phones are a great addition to our High Tech Phones.

If style, I'll choose Viewty. If (i forget what that word is), I'll choose iPhone.
