I have the Ipod Mini[old, I know] and I want to put in more music but whenever I try to add more in, iTunes wants me to delete all my previous songs on it because it has none of the song files anymore. I just got a new computer and it's pretty much impossible for me to get my old one back so, is there a way to add more music to my Ipod avoiding the horror of erasing all of my songs that I previously added before on my old computer?

My cousin told me to use Windows Media Player to convert the songs to my Ipod but the problem is I'm an official newbie when it comes to those kinds tech things. And I'm not even sure if it'll let me keep my old songs on it also...it might make me delete all of it like iTunes.

Thanks in Advance for whoever that replies. I'm desperately trying to find a way to add more music, I'm tired of my old ones...they're like two years old haha. [I've resorted to using my bulky CD player to listen to my new songs sweatingbullets.gif ]

You mean you have the iPod Shuffle?
I don't know how if you can add songs from your iTunes library using a different computer.
So do you have your old songs saved in your new computer?

I had to erase all my songs before and add everything back again. It took awhile but it was all good in the end.

No, no. It's the Ipod Mini, the one before the Nanos that came out.
Nope, all my old songs got deleted already.
My cousin reformatted the comp. when he set the new one up so he could use the old one.
I wasn't home that time so I couldn't say anything to him. =[

But now I have to re download and re upload all my songs again? Gah...that's a serious PAIN in the buttocks. tears.gif

If you set it to manually manage music so you have to drop in the music manually you will not have to deal with that syncing stuff.

^ i don't think it's too late...if you manually add the songs, the old/original songs will still stay there.....
just don't sync it...syncing the ipod is totally going to delete your songs...which is annoying...

But doesn't that mean that I can't put the songs in my Ipod anymore? I thought you had to sync it to put the music in the Ipod. blink.gif
I tried it manually and it only stays in my iTunes...it won't transfer the music to my iPod

in manual mode, you pick and choose the songs you want to put in your ipod. Just drag and drop the mp3 that you want into your ipod, which should show up on the left side of itunes where the playlists are.

in sync mode, all the songs in your itunes gets put into ipod, and those that are not in itunes get deleted from your ipod. so that both ipod and itunes are in sync.

your songs are in the iTunes library
select the songs you want to be transferred into your ipod
drag them and drop them down into the device(ipod) on the LEFT side of iTunes
where it says the name of the ipod or whatever..
