I'm currently using the pinyin system to type Chinese but how do I input the Chinese period? That's the big hollow one.
And just out of curiosity, how do cantonese-speaking people type Chinese? Using bopomofo?

Given that you have switched to the Chinese typing mode, the Chinese period should show up when you type "." <-normal full stop button.
你好。(Chinese typing mode)

there is no pinyin system for canto ==.
so yeah.
basically to type in chinese, you have to learn mando.

Well.. it IS true that the IME system in XP doesn't really support canto...
But you can try using this:

It's a little troublesome i know, but this is probably the better way for now.
