About time we get one of these threads going. I was beginning to think I'm the only one on the boards who plays Rock Band. As for instruments, I try to play a little of everything. I've cleared the Expert run on vocals and cleared the game on hard with both guitar and drums. Lately just for kicks, I've been playing vocals and bass when friends are over.
So Bass Hero, how bout you post your gamertag so we could play score duel or tug of war on vocals.
As for RB2, I'm all set. Exported all tracks to my hard drive and might actually be able to pick up RB2 tomorrow.
Favorite atm would have to be Skullcrusher Mountain by Jonathan Coulton which is part of the latest DLC from PAX 2008. My favorite track on the disc would have to be Don't Fear the Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult.

How is it possible for anyone not to like Green Grass & High Tides.
You could try the solo tour, this way instead of randomly selecting a song you'll progress at your own pace.
Either way, have a look see at the RB2 track list.

Great song yeah but a killer on expert drums. I'm stuck on Reptilla Expert on drums.

Sasha, there is going to be a lot more variety in songs for Rock Band 2, but I am surprised that you didn't like the first one. There are a lot of good songs to play! What kind of music do you like?

I'm still waiting for the Nirvana Nevermind album DLC...They announced it over a year ago but it hasn't been released yet.

I think that's the problem, I don't like music in general. Especially rock music cuz its sooo loud! I always end up having a headache But I do like that song in Rock Band alot, Welcome Home by Coheed. The begininning is nice:)

LOL CK92842, I tried that song once and I was soo bad! I couldn't read the words correctly cuz I was sitting hecka far away from the T.V so I just started making up my own words^^; we like lost halfway through the song cuz I missed so many notes

btw off topic but Bass hero I know I think I've seen you somewhere before! I think it was at UC Davis. Have you beent here before?? Cuz you look sooo familiar

I only sing Timmy & the Lords of the Underworld...LOL if that's even considered singing, it doesn't take much skill so I guess that's why. My main instrument is the drums, still trying to work my way to expert..I really hate footpedals though haha

I got mine for wii though, which is a really sad mistake.

Welcome Home is a pretty awesome track on all 3 instruments.
Fyi, you'd be surprised at how the game lets you slack off when it comes to singing. You could hum your way through the tracks and still complete it.

What instrument do you play in the game?

I haven't been to UC Davis. I think its because I'm Asian and you know a lot of Asians? Heh. Do you have a link of the person I look like?

I managed to pick up my copy at Blockbuster late last night and just to jot down some impressions, I'll go ahead and say it's easier to gain fans in BWT, foul ups are less forgivable in band or solo quickplay and many of the note charts are insanely close when it comes to guitar/expert.
Also I should note that there is a free track hidden in the music store. Anyone can easily manage 100% expert on drums now with this track plus check out the music video, it's hilarious.

I'm going to get the Rock Band 2 bundle for the 360 when it comes out because I didn't buy the first one due to money problems xD

No you shouldn't. The RB1 instruments are horrible compared to RB2. Plus, in RB2, it's touch sensitive for the drums and only the new drums have that feature. Trust me, there are some people that never went back to the old drums after playing the new ones.

But seriously guys, RB2 is boring (with exception to Chop Suey). Get Guitar Hero IV. Have you guys even seen the setlist for that game? It's absolutely amazing. I got sick of playing RB2 because of the horrible setlist. RB1 I've been playing since the day it came out. RB2 I lost interest after a few days and it's mostly because of the songs.

i don't know if it's just my equipment, but i feel like i have to strum or hit really hard just for anything to register. it just really bums me out, especially since i play guitar hero and drummania(where the equipment is great). it makes me not even want to play it.

anyway, i just play drums. i've played guitar on GH2 and 3 enough anyway. i get the feeling it'll take me forever to get good enough to play expert though.

^ Do you have the new V2 equipment? Generally for anything that comes out, there will be defective equipment. I'm assuming that the hits won't register unless you whack that thing like a real set of drums. And that shouldn't be normal. Considering there are songs that have long streaks of notes where one handed light taps are absolutely necessary.

^you mean whether i have to rock band 1 or 2 instruments? i have the ones from 1. my dad did move the xbox to the HD TV though. does this game have that calibration problem if you don't set it? maybe that was it? either way, it caused me to not be able to beat radiohead's creep on expert...and that song is just really fast strumming...

^ Yeah chances are you probably have a crap model. I have a friend who's drum set has poor sensitivity and you have to hit pretty hard. If that's the case you could always do tricks to increase sensitivity such as putting a penny inside the drums.
