At dinner last night, my friends and I were discussing this topic.

Here are two guys who possess some contrasting traits.

Who would you choose?

Guy 1

- Doesn't get jealous easily

- Gives you plenty of space and isn't clingy at all.

- Is quite passive in general and has not a lot of self-esteem.

- He won't stand up for you when say hypothetically, you get approached by some sleazy guys who try to take advantage of you. He'll just be quiet in the background and or not make much attempt to get you away from them. The most he'd do would be try to drag you away but if they continue to follow and try to grab you or something he'll just be afraid and do nothing.

- Does anything you tell him to do


Guy 2

- Gets jealous easily and it shows in his behaviour, expression, speaking tone, etc.

- Has a lot of pride and is a bit cocky.

- Has mood swings and is a bit bi-polar.

- Will stand up for his girl if hypothetically, sleazy guys approach and try to chat up his girl. He'll try to get them away from you and that desire will be evident in his anger. He'll confront them and tell them to get lost unless they wanted trouble.

- Is pretty dominant in the relationship and makes you do things for him more than you make him do things for you.

You know, ironically a lot of girls I know would choose Guy 1.

Why? Because Guy 2 seems to be too suffocating and in your face for the girl.

I wouldn't pick number two because I have some guy friends and a jealous boyfriend would explode. They sound like they'd control my life as well. I'd rather not be with a guy who has the mood swings of a pregnant woman.

I'd pick Guy 2.

BUT i don't like the mood swings.
I hate those. It's like, WTF?! MAKE UP YOUR MIND.
A dominating guy, eh? Well, it's a turn on KIND OF.
It's fun when a guy does SOME dominating things.
But things in MY FIELD will NOT be touched.
Haha.

But at the same time, Guy 1 doesn't really have much to say.
If he's shy, and has low self-esteem, then I'd understand.
Someone like him deserves a sweet girl who'd love him and understand.

well, with guy 2, i'll feel more secure and safer than compared to guy 1.
guy 1 seems like he need a girl to look after him, and take care of him, to protect him. :/

Guy 1 sounds boring and I'd probably pick immature fights with him because he's so like "oh you can do whatever you feel like"

although guy 1 sounds like a great find, I choose guy 2 only because he would stand up and defend me. he gives a damn because he cares about me. its not even about being safe/secure/be protected. I just don't want to be hit on by some punks while my boyfriend just stands by and say "Sorry girlfriend, you're on your own. I'm out."

and vice versa, if I see some girls hitting on my boyfriend, i would NOT quietly stand by and watch. I would proceed to remove her hands and inform her to find her own boy toy.

guy 1... not only he doesn't care about me, he doesn't care about himself by doing everything i tell him to do. i want someone who can use common sense and think for himself. =(

In some ways.... my boyfriend is similar to guy 1, except when this ass hat was bullying me... my boyfriend shredded the guy to pieces. LOL
