My ipod got busted just a while back. I was thinking of getting a an Ipod Touch for a replacement. I like the features and stuff.
Plus the screen is bigger nicer for videos and stuff. Im familiar with the interface so its good.
My friend said why not get a Zune. Ive always heard Zune is good. But Ive never had one.
So im wondering, to those who use Zune. What can u say about it?
Is there anyone who switched Apple>Zune Zune>APple?
Does the Zune have multi language support display? (ie, japanese, korean, chinese characters?)
Displays the album artwork?
Ease of use? Sound Quality and stuff?
Podcasts?
Price wise which is cheaper and worth the buck?
Hope anyone can give some tips. Thanks.

I have a 80GB so i could answer most of these questions:
Does the Zune have multi language support display? (ie, japanese, korean, chinese characters?)
By default, No, you'll have to wait for a patch or firmware (i think) try searching for it, im pretty sure i read on a forum discussing this, it may be out, if not, it should be in the future.
Displays the album artwork?
Yeah, but if you download alot of your music, have alot of compilations, etc, then most of these songs will have misplaced album art which you cant remove, though you can download pics off google images or something and replace it
Ease of use? Sound Quality and stuff?
Sound is far superior to ipod as the earphones supplied have digital enhancers to take in place for the lack of equalizer. Everywhere i've read says the sound for ipod is always average at best.
Podcasts?
Theres a section for podcasts... im not sure what your asking, I dont use the zune market software, but im pretty sure you can download podcasts off that, though you can still use downloaded podcasts and itunes downloaded songs (most of them)
Price wise which is cheaper and worth the buck?
The price is really good, though i'd personally wait for the 120gb model.
Um, like i mentioned earlier, if you downloaded alot of your music and they arent tagged properly, then the software will merge or uncatergorize them as unknown, so when you actually use your zune, if you dont rename the unknown artists, merge the songs from compilations together. It is really really frustrating. The software by far is the biggest letdown for the zune and i hope the software for the 120gb model is much much better. Also i havent worked my way around this besides changing the monitored folders, but if you remove a album or song from you pc then it will be deleted from your zune (though you can recover it)
PM me if you have any other questions.
In general its a solid device, i only got it because of the decent battery life, storage space, price and the fact its not an ipod.

^Awesome, awesome. You beat me to it.
I've been through this from an Apple--> to Zune--> to an Apple--> back to a Zune. I got it switched so much because I guess I didn't really like the iPod. (I must be the first to admit.
) One feature I love most about the Zune is the picture zooming. On the Ipod you can't really go into detail because of the small screen--plus they don't have any zoom options. Also of course, the Zune's screen is perfecto. Perfect size for viewing videos and such.
-The Zune has radio, something the iPod does not.
-You can wireslessly exchange music and pictures with a buddy who also has a Zune.--Just don't leave your wireless on when you're not using it, it'll totally die in about 3 hours. >_<
-Zune does display the album artwork. It might just add something else sometimes--but you can always change it.
-The Zune has podcast.
And the rest, the above already answered them.

Zune vs. Ipod Touch
Price: Depending on which Ipod Touch, it'll be the same price. Zune 80gb is the same as a 8gb ipod touch? I'm sure it's the same price as an 80gb ipod classic.
Album art: YOU CAN change the album art via Zune program.
Sound: Great, bass is really up there plus the earphones act as ear plugs, you can barely hear any outside interference (traffic, people talking etc.)
I don't know why people can complain about the zune program, I've had no trouble at all.

Eh if you rip alot of albums and they aren't named properly/download compilations, etc, then the software seperates all the tracks into seperate albums, and you have to merge them. I remember when i synced all my songs, a few hundred songs were in the unknown folder.
It would be handy if the zune had a clock function, im pretty sure theres a program online for it... hmm.. eh

I would just get the iPod Touch because the Zune would not be able to read any of the songs that I have (most of my songs are Korean). I know that there are hacks and whatnot that may be able to get about this, but the fact that Microsoft does not support unicode in its mp3 players is pretty pathetic imo.

If the album you rip aren't properly named then ofcourse it's not the fault of the zune. Besides, it's an easy thing to fix, just rename them and they will go into their right album. Neither the zune or ipod can fix the compilation that isn't named properly.
The zune has a clock, or so they say, it's just Microsoft haven't decided to show it -- apparently. I'm waiting for that day though cos I want the clock too, but wouldn't it waste the battery? That's what I'm thinking.
