Regardless of your party affiliation, please know that you must register to vote weeks before the actual voting day.

Please, I urge you to find out the deadlines of your state or even counties, and even if you have no intention of voting, please register, so that if you change your mind at a later date, you can cast your vote.

This election honestly is one of the more important elections of our lives.

- We are mired in two wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

-We are planning one in Iran in October

- We are 9 trillion dollars in debt

- We owe China and Japan most of the debt

- Our domestic infrastructure is falling apart

- We have the highest rate of unemployment, and growing homelessness

- We torture combatants and we have held prisoners in Gitmo WITH NO DUE PROCESS for years. We have teenagers locked up in Gitmo. Is this our country? Is this who we want to be?

- Our basic civil rights have been eroded because of the patriot act. If you think that only those Muslim terrorists are affected by our eroding civil rights, think again. YOUR phones are now wiretapped (look up FISA). Your email is wiretapped. We are NOT a police state, so VOTE for your voice.

We cannot sit around and do nothing. For most of us, the next few years will determine whether we will remain the beacon of hope or a floundering nation that has lost its moorings.

Please EDUCATE YOURSELF.

What does McCain's experience mean when he is deeply entrenched with the same people who have brought our country to this level. What does experience mean without judgment and moral guidance?

Yes, I am canvassing for Obama/Biden, and I will work hard to persuade you to vote for Obama, but at the end of the day, you will make your own decision. SO PLEASE REGISTER TO VOTE. DO IT TOMORROW. DO IT TODAY.

We are the future. We are the ones who can take back this country.

I agree, enough complaining about it! This is our small window of opportunity to voice our opinion on how we want the country to be run for the next 4 yrs!

Register to vote if you haven't!

<-- already registered and VERY excited to vote.

As frustrated I am with this election, I KNOW this will go down as a pivotal moment in American history, and I am honored to have the opportunity to be a part of it.

OP, you should have a link to where people can register.

www.rockthevote.com

It only takes 5 minutes to register online and all you have to do is email the form with some form of proof that you are an American citizen and in a week or so, you're registered to vote!

Obama has ties to Wall Street, AIPAC, etc. etc.

Voting third party would be better--the two main candidates are statists who will not do much to reverse political and economic centralization.

I'm not voting because I don't like either one. I've seen too many videos of them bullsh#tting. It's like choosing between dog poop and cat poop, either way we are end up with a poop. I would have voted for Clinton though, too bad she didn't make it.

Thanks for this, it's something I've been putting off.

Voting third party is an option, but I would rather vote Democrat.. so as long as the Republicans do not succeed.

EVEN if you are in the bluest of blue states, please register and vote. Alternatively, if you are in the reddest of red states, please register and vote.

To those who say that the difference between McCain and Obama is minimal, with all due respect, you are completely and utterly uninformed. The difference between McCain and Obama could not be wider.

McCain is a neocon--that means that he believes in perpetuating and continuing imperial wars. He has no intention of balancing the budget, and he will leave us in greater debt that before.

Those who think that Obama will bring about socialism--rethink where you are getting this information. Guess what, FoxNews and Republican talking points in 2004 called Kerry an elitist and someone who will bring about socialism. These are right-wing talking points, and recycled talking points too. They are now trying to pull the same mini cooper with Obama. WATCH THIS ---> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lM3oww9Vk-c

Listen, you owe it to yourself to READ these two candidates platforms and to EDUCATE yourself. Don't base your judgment on soundbites and spins from each camps. Be an informed voter. Be an intellectual voter. That is the least you can do in a democracy.

There is a reason why 18+ million people did not vote for her. Read up on why. Her policies are about as right-wing as a Democrat can get, without going into mad-crazy Lieberman corner.

What does that even mean? Nobody in this country can ever get into political office without swearing allegiance to Israel (AIPAC). McCain, Clinton, AND Obama all had to go and bow down to AIPAC. That's a fact. The Israel lobby can destroy a candidate.

That does not mean that Obama has 'ties" to them. On the contrary, he is the only politician who has dared to even say that U.S. should taken an even-handed approach to the Israeli-Palestinian issue.

Guess what McCain says? He agrees to ALL of AIPAC's demands--that there be no end to settlements; that Iran be bombed; that the two-state solution not allow return of refugees, etc., etc. McCain is Bush II in terms of foreign policy.

ANYWAY, HERE IS INFORMATION ON DEADLINES STATE BY STATE: http://www.declareyourself.com/voting_faq/...ate_info_2.html

Yes, the electoral college SUCKS, but even if you are not in a swing state--REGISTER. You can decide to vote or not later as you wish.

Thanks to all for your responses. We need MASSIVE youth turnout.

Talk to your friends, neighbors, co-workers. Talk to strangers. Get involved. YOU are democracy in action. YOU ARE THE VOICE OF OUR NATION.

Let's get this done!

Since your primary purpose is getting the vote out, I put forth an alternate view and leave the debate over McCain and Obama for another thread: Political Will, Political Won't

Any semblance of democracy died when the Constitution was dispensed with.

i dont really complain about the presidents etc - but i know i will miss Bush though its gonna be sad when he leaves (Talk about a worldwide event that will be next january) lol

also to the person who said both candidates bullshet and said they wouldve voted for hillary that was a bit funny with a little offense

unless the person knew hillary BSes her own share of stuff

i probably wont vote

Sorta hope Mccain wins and this country ends up finishing up what happened with the last president and just keep falling deeper and deeper where i might have to move to korea or something
if u want to black out the spoilers you have to set the font to the color "white" then you can use the black spoiler hi light
