Constipation ...it never ends

i'm sure there's a thread on constipation (yes a silly word, and yes and serious problem for me) but I have intense constipation...sigh

i want to go to a doctor and get a check up but I'm currently i Korea and i have no health insurance and I'm living off my paycheck (which is not very big).

I've always had bad constipation that goes on for a very long time, but this is ridiculous.
I've tried every single laxative that I am now immune to everything (even that gross milk thing).
I've tried the dieter's tea, asian herbal remedies, everything...nada.

Sometimes, I get constipated for two weeks and I feel so disgusting.
After the first four days, I start binging on food and mix foods that usually upset's the stomach.
For instance, I eat really spicy foods then I eat frozen grapes or I'll eat curry and chew on ice or eat grapefruit...
However, this has all ended. It has no effect anymore and I'm going to shoot myself in the face one day.
It's also making me gain weight.

Sometimes, I end up throwing up because it has to come out one way after two weeks right?

What should I do?

Going to the doctor's is not an option at this point so do any of you have any helpful remedies or anything...

I'm on my fifth day of no bowel movements...

aw... it sucks to hear that >_<
have you tried eating prunes? or drinking lots of water? walk around a lot?
usually prunes or prune juice or plums do the trick.. or bananas..
eat more fruits and veggies..

I feel for you .. really !

i've had constipation for the longest time !!
I've gained 30 pounds because of it !
eventually , i went to the doctor . Of course , the problem stopped
until i stopped using the medication. Which surely i couldn't take forever !!

However , for the past two months. I've changed my diet.
I eat more healthy so i include more fruits and vegetables and less bread.
and drinks lots and LOTS of water.
I realized after that that my digestion is better and i less constipation.

Also , what helped me with my digestion problem more is cutting off soft drinks !!
I sleep well , also.

Above all that, I've lost 20 pounds in 2 months!!!!!

Here is a word that will change your life FIBRE.
You should be getting a huge dose of fibre everyday
it will help regulate and scrub out a lot of the stuff.
Also drink lots of water. You can search
high fibre foods on google or whatever, just make sure
you eat a lot. If you have a horrible diet I can understand
why you're getting constipated. Try not to stress as this does
not help the situation at all. If anything it will make it worse.

Drink a lot of water and eat a lot of fibrous fruits and vegetable. Don't just eat grapes. Eat something else like oranges and so on

you need more fiber in your diet. don't try and get it out by irritating your insides. eat apples ( with the peel on ), bluberries, eat anything green and leafy. drink a lot of water too. when you have to go to the bathroom .. don't hold it in. go when you have to go.

yea... get in extra fiber...
or there's also a sure-fire way of doing things, but i avoid this method like the plague...
get yourself some enema

eat fruit yogurts, they help digestive system.

I eat Yoplait yogurt once a day,
I usually poop once a day, but when I eat yogurt, I poop twice a day.

Eh... I have the same problem. I usually don't have a bowl movement until every 2 weeks. When I was in Vietnam, I didn't go for a whole month. Sometimes; it scares me a bit because I know it's very unnatural. I'm thinking of taking laxative also. But I haven't pack on any pounds... or at least; I don't think. I only weight 105.

aww, i feel bad for you.
i hate when i get constipated too..or i dont know if i was constipated.
up till 2 months ago, i pooped every 3-4 days and i felt terrible!! i felt fat and bloated. >< and i also gained like 10 pounds.
so i changed my diet over the summer and i lost the 10 pounds and i pooped almost everyday. XD
but these days, it's going bad again, cuz of school sad.gif yesterday i didnt have a bowel movement but today after school i ate a lot..yogurt, corn, apple, banana, bread..all those fibery foods
and i had a bowel movement just 7 minutes ago. :]
if you eat a decent amount of veggies each day, it'll help. and fruits too-papayas, grapes, blueberries, apples, bananas..eat a variety. btw i eat a banana every morning.

ive been constipated for a whiile too
yesterday i bought tea called natural laxative tea.
you drink it at next
and so i did
this morning....
uhhhhhh..
i don't want to go into details
but it worked
good thing i haven't started school yet
or i woulda been late.....
if you know..what i mean.....

its awkward
but it does the job.

how the heck do you eat and not poop anything or a month? where does all the food go???

Miralax is amazing. I've had constipation problems for the past year, and after visiting three doctors I was last referred to the over-the-counter drug. One cap a day can help regulate your constipation, and as you notice your bowel movements becoming more regular you can lessen the dose or just stop using it all together.

Don't just increase your intake of fiber suddenly, that causes constipation. If you increase your intake of fiber, do so gradually. Fiber must be accompanied by lots and lots of water so drinks tons of it!

Try Fiber 1 cereal. 57% of your recommended daily value of fiber in one serving wink.gif

basically i just eat lots of veggies and prunes =o but yeah seriously drink lotsssss of water. And dont eat too much fried stuff since all the nutrients are pretty much gone due to the oil and everything (even the fiber sorta dissapears..)

buy those fiber powder things from wallgreens or something and just add them to everything =D
a better way is to eat lots of veggie and fruits <3
oh and LOTS of water :]

eat papaya, den drink plain water..
i do that .. and i'm a regular pooper.
sometimes on my heavy pooping days, i poop 8 times a day, unhealthy yea, but it feels good

i used to have it back when i use to eat really unhealthy things, but after switching to a healthier diet, i noticed it's all gone but i only go every other day

Drink a cup of water the first thing in the morning when you get up smile.gif; then drink orange juice(freshly squeezed) or just eat orange as it is, papaya works too.

Remember to eat it before you eat anything else because they'll soften your bowels.
Oh and exercising helps a lot too, like belly dancing? biggrin.gif It sort of helps 'awaken' your insides.

I also notice I tend to constipate when I have irregular sleeping habits, which is currently. tears.gif
