recently i just broke my Sony Cybershot DSC-T1 :(
i had it for almost 5 yearss
now i am thinking about buying a Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS...
(the 8.0 megapixel one)
is that a good choice?
i dont want to buy it and later regret it

I don't think it's a bad choice. Canon seems to be on top of things with their point and shoots (DSLRs also, but other companies are just as good about DSLRs, imo).

If you were happy with your T1 I don't really see a reason you would really hate your SD1100IS.

Not a bad choice at all if you're going for a Canon. In fact, I think breaking your Sony Cybershot of 5 years is not that bad considering their cameras kinda suck compared to Canon's and Nikon's.
