Ever realize this? The people you see around you who are poorer financially are often happier people with more friends and stuff. The people with money and status in society are often lonelier and more unhappy.
I won't go into explaining all the events up to my life that lead me to feel this way but I think at this point, I just want to find ways to make as much money as I can, buy a nice home in some quiet, pretty neighborhood and get married to my piano and be miserable.

Have you been trying to tell us all along that you're rich?

the thing is, when it comes to money, it may lessen the stress factor a lot and let you focus your happiness on other things but you can't say that poor people are genuinely happier. i don't think that happiness can be judged on social standing or by money alone. i think what you need to look at is ... what types of people are happy? their outlook on life, the way they take in events and actions, the way they feel when certain things happen to them and what they make of it.

sounds like a cop-out to me. 'its easier to woo money than to woo women' when in reality, both are difficult and you may settle for middle class.

yeap, poor ppl have to use what they have to make them happy, the basic needs are like family, friends, being healthy etc..they aren't thinking about living in paradise b/c its almost an unrealistic goal
but when your rich, ppl want more from life, like exotic cars, mansions etc..to get what they want most out of living life

Cloudy, all I can say is that ANYONE can be unhappy (rich or poor). It's a choice just as much as it is a state of being. No one is going to be happy all of the time, but you can choose to be happy as often as you possibly can be.
For me, I am happiest when I am worshipping with God, but happiness comes in lots of forms. Just like you find joy in playing the piano, that's a happiness that someone like me who can't play an instrument doesn't know. You were happy when you pulled off leading that project, when no one else would step up to the plate and that's great. It doesn't always have to be white picket fences and 2.3 kids to be defined as happiness. And I don't plan on being broke all the days of my life, but I promise you I won't be unhappy when I attain more wealth. So if no one else is rich and happy, I know that I will be.
Stop looking at all the ways other people are happy and look on the things that make you happy.
I don't want you to settle for being miserable. There are too many great things in this world for you to have resigned yourself to being miserable already.
