This class is absolutely dreadful. My professor does not communicate with his TA(s) at all, let alone teach. I'm already stressed and it's only been two weeks. Those who have taken it, do you have any studying techniques? Thanks so much!

i picked a major so that i will not have to deal with physics, thank god!!!! but all i can say is if the professor can't help you, then make friends with the other kids in class. out of the 30 or so kids in there, at least 2 know what they're doing. and if you can't find any, there's always the science labs where someone's there to help.

^ likewise.

i made the mistake of taking physics in highschool.. My teacher had previously been a college professor so i know how you feel. She was awful, and i never learned anything from here. Make sure you read the chapter very thoroughly and make sure that you understand the formula and how it is being used. Don't just look at one example and assume you know the formula, because every problem is applying the formula differently. And finally, make google your best friend. I found that a lot of colleges have online physics study guides along with the answers.

actually physics is my major but I have to admit sometimes it IS dreadful......
If you find difficult in understanding the formula you should try to understand the concept behind it....
But the best way is to read the book again and again and discussing it with your friends...
Hope it' useful..........

Oh crap... a year of physics awaits me too. Maybe you can get a tutor, or if your college has like a help station or whatever...or find smart people/use the internet like other people suggested.

Try not to get behind, worst thing to do. Take advantage of on campus tutoring, optional instructional sessions, and office hours.

find someone good to study with then do all the problems in the book and memorize the formulas.
But above all, UNDERSTAND THE CONCEPTS. That's the most important part! Good luck, physics was hell for me too.
I think the worst part for me was magnetism and electricity. sigh.

Oh dear, I feel so sorry for you. I got the greatest Physics lecturer ever, but the subject is still hell for me.
I suggest learning the basic concept of physics online. Reading from books sorta sux and sometime you can't understand anything so try looking for a website that have animation. It will help.
Good luck anyway.
May the force be with you
