So I hav cystic acne and my dermo keeps on recommending tri-cyclen.. except i always hear those stories of like, depression, worse acne, bloating (gaining weight) etc. If you guys hav tried tri-cyclen, what are you experiences with it? Did you go through any bad side effects? Or share the good side of the BCP plzz.. thanks so much =P

It will change the way you react to things, however, similar to your "PMS" phase of the month. Because tri-cyclen (I'm assuming) is a combination pill like Yasmin and Alesse which contains hormones which are added to your body...

Personally, I've gained weight on my pills ONLY because I've been turning to food for comfort. The pills make me a little more, um, edgy. Haha, I yell at my boyfriend a lot while I'm on the pill and then we fight and then I go into the kitchen and make instant noodles. =( But if you can control it, it won't make you gain weight! =)

I'm currently taking it. I had bad acne before and after I took it my skin has been awesome. No side effects or anything for me.

I mean it does vary from person to person so my experience might not be the same as others. I agree you should go on the girls thread. There are a lot of ladies there that can give you their opinion and experiences with it.

DONT TAKE IT

1) Makes your skin more sensitive to the sun
2) teeth can go yellow weird eh
3) MOST OF ALL CAN BECOME DEPENDENT

I believe in the chinese herbal stuff, I'd reccomende that. it takes more time to start seeing results, but because its natural it can clear all the dirty stuff from within, and keep it that way

BUT one thing i recccomend is a vitamin supplement you can take two times a day if you go to a health store
its called PERFECT SKIN, it contains, dha, omega fatty accids, green tea, sileniam, zinc etc. cause apparently peopla with acne prone skin, lack those nutrients in our body^^ give it a try

i started taking birth control, mostly for my acne, and it actually made my acne worse. like, the worst acne i have ever experienced in my life. i had to go off the pill after 10 days because it was so unpleasant. basically, you can never predict how your body will react to these things because all women are different as far as hormones are concerned.

i've used it before... no side effects for me... my boobs got bigger, i had less/no acne, plus it helped me regulate my period.
