was sitting in my room folding my laundry when the thought occured that i simply got tired of ironing out my clothes. so instead of ironing them, i just left to my living room and got me a beer and let myself soak into my sofa!! and then a commercial came out. it was an ad for wrinkle spray [from downey?] where you just spray and VOILA! it unwrinkles itself!! so i googled it up, and lo and behold, they had these kind of products for YEARS! why didn't i know? sad.gif it was like an epiphany! and what timing! i think the powers that be wanted me to see this!!

anywhoo... the thought came to mind... this is singles life 20+ style. sure, this isn't as interesting as the other certain SATC show that brainwashes the young female masses [IMHO...] but i think a 20+ singles life is somewhat of a discovery and adventure, albeit sometimes lame.

that said, how bout the rest of you guys? i'm sure y'all have stories of single 20+ living that's taught you some pretty cool things. i can tell you all about my cooking adventures, and how i sliced off a small chunk of my finger trying to peel a potato, but that's kinda gruesome for this post. i'll add more as i go, but save it to keep this thread alive once in a while. my starting contribution will be the existence of this wrinkle spray... it's magic!! i think everyone should get one smile.gif

... what >_> ?
Wrinkle spray ? LOL. Wow >_>. I would just iron the clothes anyway. I mean, when you're old and married, you're going to do it ! [ or your wife / husband ]
&20+ is not very cool. I learned about the 94864906 tests I need for graduate school / graduate programs... I learned that MPG is HORRIBLE in the suburbs.
There is no adventure. There is only chores, study, and friends/family.

God, I want to dream again. Take me somewhere I've never been. This time I'm not scared. facebook

HAHA that is sooooooo cute.. I will try that sometime, although I don't know if there will be negative side-effects? What if it makes the color fade?

My life is.. pretty much work, work, work at the moment, and school starts soon. Part-time job, internship, and school work: gonna be crazy. Being single makes me cling to my friends and family a lot.

I don't really mind having a "singles life," but it makes me scared I won't meet Mr. Right soon. =/

Yep..same here.
Work, go home. Go out with friends, study a bit, self-motivation.
Being single isn't all that bad actually.
But being single when the person you miss found a new gf really sucks sad.gif

Same here! I'm afraid that with all my busy-bee-ness that I won't find that s/o sad.gif

All I do is study, work, and recently, internship. I want to discover and explore outside of the comfortable environment I've known for so long. Sure, I have some independence... but I want to explore and be in another country and thousands miles of away from what I know.

Even with this mundane life, I have learned quite a few things. Trust me, I was a very oblivious person while growing up. I didn't know how to dress myself (without my mother picking my clothes for me) until my second year in college. I didn't know how to cook my favorite dishes until now. And I just recently discovered that I've been pronouncing the "The Closer" wrong these 2 years... I said the "close-er" not the "closer" sleep.gif

Most important of all, I'm learning how to actually socialize. Truly, truly socialize! Meeting people and if they're receptive then I'll meet someone new. I just recently understood that it's okay to be me... it's okay to want things... and that it's okay to have dreams and be passionate. Before all this, I was a pretty negative kiddo.

^ Same here! I'm a really introverted person, so I don't make friends easily. But I've realized that you really need to make an effort to meet people and make connections, you really can't be shy in today's society.. Otherwise, it gets really lonely, and you don't get very far in your work. So I've really opened up during my three years in college.

And I'm learning to cook too! My mom's afraid that I won't be prepared when I get married HAHA!! Need to find that S/O first.

hahaha I know what you're talking about! I saw that commercial like 2 days ago, and was like HEEY I should try that!!! since my clothes get wrinkled and I get lazy ironing them..

I'm not 20+ yet but I am 20...Im a junior in university and ya I often wonder when mr. right will come..even if I don't look for one..ya know? and if I'm not in uni I'm at home..with my parents..so I'm basically, studying, hanging out with friends, and then back home during holidays....

for this summer haha I've been bumming so much just because alot of my friends back at home have work, if not work they have other friends to hang out with..sounds sad I know! but ya LOL I mean I hang out with them sometimes just not all the time..o_o...and when I'm at home sometimes I like to bake or make new food..O_O..like I made waffles and I've made steamed buns AHAHA..but ya..I guess that's single life..at least to me when I'm living with my parents =P then at school I'm either studying or hanging out with friends..so eh..LOL it's ok..i guess..

like what they said if you don't anticipate it'll fall right on your lap......O_O "supposedly"

For whatever it's worth, I just bought wrinkle spray to use on my shirts, and it's not really working very well. Maybe I'm not using it correctly. Either way, I'm going to buy an iron this weekend.

I start work on Monday, and I have a strong feeling that my swinging 20+ life is going to consist mostly of working, eating take-out for dinner, then watching TV and going to bed.

that makes sense..
when we look, we have expectations.,and when our expectations aren't met, we get dissapointed and sad.

LOL!

wrinkle spray has been around for quite a while now! but i find that ironing without it is easier to fix a fold that has been wrinkle sprayed.

hmmm.... i've learnt how to bake alotta desserts... hang out with friends, oh! i picked up yoga too.

no worries just enjoy the single life things happen when you least expect it trust!

This is an interesting thread:)

For me I will be turning 21 next Friday:)...I have learned a lot in the past year about life in general. Being single is not always fun, but that is what my life is right now so I do my best to enjoy the freedom of me, myself, and I. I try to give myself treats like movies and shopping on Saturdays or doing yoga at the Rec Center.

Someone mentioned not looking, and that is something I am practicing these days. I have been looking and nothing has come my way so now I am just focusing on being independent and doing thing I ENJOY. Like traveling or trying out new recipes.

I am in my last year in college and I have been thinking about how scary it will be to graduate. College is safe, but the real world is another story. I am realizing though that even though this chapter is going to end, another one begins and I have to decide how that story will unfold.

One piece of advice for my fellow 20+ is it is okay not to know all the answers. It is okay to make mistakes and bad choices. It is okay to have more questions than answers, and if you feel like you don't know who you are that is more than okay. You have this time to learn from your mistakes and experiences, to learn your likes/dislikes, and to discover who you are. Don't rush it and remember to enjoy. That is something I learned this past year and I feel so liberated. We are young, we shouldn't have things all figured out yet.

Haha I've had GREAT experiences with cooking. I self-learned and experimented in about 2 weeks and now I can make all sorts of combos with vegetables and stuff. And I used to be labeled as the girl who could never make anything (by my dad, the great cook in my family ha).

But honestly, it's not that hard at all. I just cut it up, pan-fry everything and voila, good food. Rice is super easy, pasta is easy.

Of course, I can't do like super meats or anything.

And I'm sure I'll get sick of it soon, but I don't even mind laundry. Everytime I take my CLEAN clothes out of the dryer, I get SO happy seeing it all NICE and WARM.....I mean, there's something magical about a hamper of dirty clothes turning ALL niceee and cleannn by the end (even if it costs me a lot to wash them and stuff).

And what else....grocery shopping. Used to HATE IT. Now I don't feel like a little kid in a store now. I can now get ANYTHING I want. And it's pretty awesome.
Bitter, sweet, the price of a forbidden passion. The black rose, who will cry for her? For she is only an illusion, a mirage that only exists in the deepest realms of one’s desires.”

You know what I find "magical"? No matter if it's in a hamper dirty or just out of the dryer clean, the very same set of clothes are still referred to as plain old "laundry". Kind of weird, don't you think?

LoL that was a funny first post. Kinda random but ya. 20 and single is pretty nice, freedom to explore and just do your own thingl. Go out, study, do the whole self motivation thing. I'm not looking for anyone and that seems to make life a lot easier. It'd be nice to have someone sometimes though, someone to bother or eat with all time :/ Go out do stuff and explore with you, doing it alone is lonely.
