my body gets sore, but that's what happens when you work your body intensely. my calves and thighs burn when i walk up stairs like where i can feel my muscles moving and getting tighter. my shoulders and part of my shoulder blades burn too.
i feel great after a workout and who doesn't, and when i wear my pants it looks like i've gained weight, but i feel good like i've lost weight.
so is it that i could be building muscles on my lower half?

jumping to conclusions, I need to ask something crucial.
What is your diet like?

What is your diet like?
i eat cereal with milk for breakfast.
for lunch normally a sandwich with whole grain bread with turkey, cheese, lettuce, etc.
then a trail mix granola bar.
for practice i drink plenty of a big water bottle. could it be water weight ?
for dinnner; tons of pieces of watermelon, rice with meat and vegetables
then more watermelon.
done for the day.

Could possibly be water weight. How often do you weigh yourself?
and also where is your workout between these meals?

And your diet seems to be fine to me, you get everything you would need to have a healthy body !
Now... muscle are heavier then fat: so you have probably been losing your fat and gaining muscles, which is good ^^ There is no secret to just lose fat and to not gain muscles...it's just not possible unless you have access to a sauna or something... and then again it's not the best way!
When you weight yourself, I recommend to do it when you just woke up, before eating. Your real weight is in the morning since during the day you eat. If, for example, you wight yourself at 9:00PM you'll be heavier then you actually are because you ar maybe still digesting your previous meal and you still have all that water in your body. That's why my coach always told me to weight myself in the morning. ^^

dont mean to burst your bubble but didn't someone post an article here that said muscle weighed as much as fat? and the idea that "muscle is heavier than fat" is a myth? =x

After swimming, you weigh more, did you know that? I went to the gym with my friend several times and she told me that and it was true. Something like your skin soaking up a bit of extra water or something weird like that. But yeah, I weighed myself on a scale before I went swimming, and then I weighed myself again afterwards, and I gained like, 3 more pounds. x______x But those 3 pounds disappeared the next day haha. But it always happens to me when I swim.

ive heard of this before.. and to a certain extent it might be true. lets say.. 1lbs muscle=1lb fat, but muscle is denser so to speak, so it appears like it weighs heavy because it occupies very very little space? thus that piece of muscle that appear very "small" on the body weighs heavy, they (1lbs) weigh exactly as heavy as 1lbs fat, but it takes up only a tiny lil space. thus the weighs heavier than fat myth? ok i dont know what im saying literally

So doesn't that mean that if they are the same volume, then the muscle will weigh more?

You look skinnier and healthier. Nobody would really ask your weight anyway?
You could just lie though. ;]
Buht sometimes if you suddenly change your diet, you gain weight.
I'm not really sure. You should google it. XD

Even it pains
