My Brother Puked Up Blood.

He had a big night with the boys on Friday last week. He drank a lot, like shot after shot of Bicardi, JD and Shivers. The next morning he vomitted twice in the toilet. The second time, it was clotty blood. I was suppose to take him to the doctors but they were closed over the weekends. Could it have been alcohol poisoning? He said he had a sore throat but I don't think it had anything to do with that because there was a huge amount of blood. Where could the blood be coming from? And is this fatal?
I feel so untouched & I need you so much that I just can't resist you. It's not enough to say that I miss you.

it most likely is alcohol poisoning. my friend did the same thing, except it was liquidy blood. he pretty much blacked out for a couple of hours. he woke up and just had a crazy hangover, but he was fine. we were deciding whether or not to take him to the hospital, but he was under 21 at the time, so we were a little cautious. he kept responding to us throughout the night so we hoped that we could wait it out and luckily he was able to recover

YES
if u drink a lot and throw up blood it means ur COMPLTELY DEHYDRATED
tell him to drink a lot of fluids, and if it persists see a doctor

Alice asked the Cheshire Cat `Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?'
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.
"I don't much care where--" said Alice.
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go,' said the Cat.

Why didn't you take him to the hospital? Vomiting blood at ANY time is dangerous! You should've taken him to an emergency room even though your physicians were closed.
Here's information:

Critical Signs for Alcohol Poisoning
* Mental confusion, stupor, coma, or person cannot be roused.
* Vomiting.
* Seizures.
* Slow breathing (fewer than eight breaths per minute).
* Irregular breathing (10 seconds or more between breaths).
* Hypothermia (low body temperature), bluish skin color, paleness.
What Should I Do If I Suspect Someone Has Alcohol Poisoning?
* Know the danger signals.
* Do not wait for all symptoms to be present.
* Be aware that a person who has passed out may die.
* If there is any suspicion of an alcohol overdose, call 911 for help. Don't try to guess the level of drunkenness.
What Can Happen to Someone With Alcohol Poisoning That Goes Untreated?
* Victim chokes on his or her own vomit.
* Breathing slows, becomes irregular, or stops.
* Heart beats irregularly or stops.
* Hypothermia (low body temperature).
* Hypoglycemia (too little blood sugar) leads to seizures.
* Untreated severe dehydration from vomiting can cause seizures, permanent brain damage, or death.
Even if the victim lives, an alcohol overdose can lead to irreversible brain damage. Rapid binge drinking (which often happens on a bet or a dare) is especially dangerous because the victim can ingest a fatal dose before becoming unconscious.

i'm surprised that nobody's brought up the possibility of an ulcer. anyhow, this is an old thread and this reply doesn't matter, but vomiting blood is very very commonly linked with an ulcer
