i'm a huge movie buff and just love how movies are made and its technical aspects, but I'm already 18 years old and i want to change my major to film studies but i'm beginning to think it's a little late because 1) i don't know much about film 2) i had a dream of becoming a film director for almost 6 years but it was pushed aside and never been pursued due to conlict with my father 3) i have never really messed around with a cam corder or any type of film camera before so ive never made a single movie
could i still do it.. tho it's a little late?

you're far from too late. if you have a passion for it and want to devote your life to it, by all means chase it (assuming there aren't any overwhelming factors holding you back). i was a biochemistry major through my 2nd year of college before having a change of heart to pursue graphic design. i transferred to an art school, currently in my second year, and having the time of my life. i'm only 22 so i'm not so "behind" either.

18 isn't late at all...plus, it's never really too late to do anything. As long as you have the $$ for college, it's all good.

i started studying film when i was 20 (mainly because i was 20 when i started college). it's the perfect time to start learning.

Hi,
18 yrs is not late for learning.if you have a passion towards film direction still you can join film education and you can be a director.Take some elder film directors in out industry, they started their career at 30's .Keep them in mind and go ahead.

18 years?? Some people are undeclared at that age! Of course you can change your major; you have pleeeenty of time.
Also, about your fear of not being ready because you don't know much/have much experience, why do you think you have to take classes? You learn these things from your classes!
I say do it. If it's your passion, you should follow it.
