I hated the dorms with no privacy, no personal bathroom, and a messy room-mate.

The cost of living is all about location, location, location!
I suggest you live with a roomie if your short on funds, just find someone who is clean.

But this only included garbage, sewage, and water. It was also far from campus so I had to spend $350 on a parking permit, plus all that driving and rush-hour traffic. $50/bi-weekly on groceries. $60/month on comcast. $30/month for PGE.
It definitely adds up.
I'm so glad I'm back home for my last year of school.

(though I now get why you get paid so much)
I live in the Netherlands and I pay 320 euro p/m all-in, so 450 dollar p/m I think... (It's actually 420, but the government gives me 100 euro's back as I'm a poor student.)
But I live in a small one room appartment/studio of 30m2. It is in one of the big cities here though.
Would you mind telling me how big your house is, because your places sounds so expensive.

Dorming was nice, I think it's good for the first year, but I really want more freedom and my own room.
