hmm..just wondering..to those ppl that don't live in dorm or moved out..how much are you guys paying for your monthly apartment/house rent? Do u share a room or have it your own?...I have my own room this year but i feel kinda bad cause i should have save money and have a roommate and recently $$$ became an issue cause i'm short school fund ...erghh but i had bad experience from last year with mine roommate at dorm and there was so little privacy so my own room sounds much better. What would you prefer?

I prefer living by myself in an apartment ... rates are 999$/mo by myself with all utilities paid for. biggrin.gif It's a really nice studio, lol.

I hated the dorms with no privacy, no personal bathroom, and a messy room-mate. sleep.gif

1700 dollars a month in a studio. Excluding electricity/water. Yes living by yourself rules!
The cost of living is all about location, location, location!
I suggest you live with a roomie if your short on funds, just find someone who is clean.

Last year, the 2 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment I stayed at was $1275. (splitting with another person would be 637.50/month) Not bad for the price right??
But this only included garbage, sewage, and water. It was also far from campus so I had to spend $350 on a parking permit, plus all that driving and rush-hour traffic. $50/bi-weekly on groceries. $60/month on comcast. $30/month for PGE.

It definitely adds up.

I'm so glad I'm back home for my last year of school.

it's also close to campus so i usually take the shuttle to school instead of my car

It's at times like these I feel that the US is really expensive.
(though I now get why you get paid so much)

I live in the Netherlands and I pay 320 euro p/m all-in, so 450 dollar p/m I think... (It's actually 420, but the government gives me 100 euro's back as I'm a poor student.)
But I live in a small one room appartment/studio of 30m2. It is in one of the big cities here though.

Would you mind telling me how big your house is, because your places sounds so expensive. ohmy.gif

I'll be paying $690/month for my own bedroom and bathroom, in a furnished 4 bed/4 bath apartment. Utilities are included and parking is free. The place is pretty close to school, it's walking distance plus there's a shuttle that stops right in front of the complex.

Dorming was nice, I think it's good for the first year, but I really want more freedom and my own room.

Are you guys working full time while taking classes to pay for the rent? My best friend and I are currently looking for a one bedroom or a studio to share; cheaper that way. We're looking at 500 each.
Back!
