Why are most of the topics in this section about being lonely, single, anti-social, and depressed? I just didn't know that many people were like that. Is there a reason behind it? Or is it something people can't control?

It kind of depresses me just by reading the titles.

I have little people skills. I am working on it. I usually just go to places where I know my friends will be there.
Sad, I know, but I can't help it. Sue me. smile.gif

Maybe 'cause people really are lonely, single, asocial and depressed? lol. The reasons are different for everyone.
The only thing that makes sense about life is death.

Perhaps it's the need to say "Look, I'm human; I'm suffering; and even though I had a hell of a night yesterday laughing at dumb posters on the computer, I would just like so say, I still relate you yalls."

Well, I think it's that most people will tend to vent out their frustrations more so than the things that made their day on the internet. I myself tend to gravitate to just venting / writing about my insecurities online more than talking them over with friends. In a sense, it's a scream for attention and at the same time the safeguard that despite people may think you're a loser online, they'll never meet you in person.
Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life.

It's because we were dying since the day we were given life.. and death really sucks... except when it comes to Family Guy.

It's because the Internet has given everyone a voice. They all think they're special. Plus Soompi is cheaper than a counsellor or psychiatrist.

But yeah, attention perhaps? mellow.gif

it's because the average person is superficial and only looking for surface level relationships.
if you're looking for a true and good friend, they are hard to find.

how many people are actually willing to listen to your problems, drop you a line, and generally help you out.
there are a lot of people who like to hang around during the good times, but disappear when times are tough.

that's probably why there are so many threads like that.
i write an important thing, and do not let's finish. a way of writing for freedom.

I find it hard to believe that the general mood and sentiment displayed in this forum is a good proxy for the 20+ age group. This forum, for some reason or another, attracts a cross-section who feel the need to voice their dissatisfaction.
"But when it ends and while it ends, something comes, after so much rage, persistence, obstinacy, extravagance; something entirely unexpected and touching in its mildness and goodness. With the motif passed through many vicissitudes, which takes leave and so doing becomes itself entirely leave-taking, a parting wave and call, with this D G G occurs a slight change, it experiences a small melodic expansion. After an introductory C, it puts a C sharp before the D. . .and this added C Sharp is the most moving, consolatory, pathetically reconciling thing in the world. It is like having one's hair or cheek stroked, lovingly, understandingly, like a deep and silent farewell look. . . . " (Mann: 55).

People don't tend to make threads when they're happy.

yeah it's different for everyone. If you were to ask every single person, what their reason was you would have to many explanations. Sure a lot of them may be for the same reasons, but like you said look at how many people there are.

I personally think the reason is because.. in reality "in real life" people like to smile and be happy..
that may not be the case deep down.. so when they log onto the computer.. they express there thoughts and emotion through the internet.
Thats why some posts will talk about being lonely.. depress... and so on.

i actually sorta think most are like that anyway
not just in a forum

- the reason u made this thread was kind of the same reason i made that thread about not being depressed
if u want to black out the spoilers you have to set the font to the color "white" then you can use the black spoiler hi light
