Nell and Tom are close friends. Tom and Cindy are bestfriends. Tom really likes Cindy. Cindy sorta likes Tom (could be more than sorta), but she would never admit it. Cindy also likes Nell. They are friends.
When Cindy is around Tom, she shows minimum flirtation. Though, when she is around Nell, the flirting and/or signs of attraction are through the roof. It's probably because Nell is really fun to be with. He's playful and mysterious. And with Tom, she is much closer to him so things arn't as exciting. But he's great to talk to and fun (in his own way). So, Nell definitely doesn't like Cindy. He doesn't want Cindy to like him. This would ruin their friendship, so he thinks. Also being the respectable guy, he doesn't want to get in his friend's way.

As you can see Cindy is (likely) leaning more to Nell. But she is really conflicted between the two. Both guys are like the opposites of each other. Lol. Nell is a great guy but if something were to happen, it wouldn't last long nor be meaningful. Nell right now is on playing terms. He just wants to meet people. He doesn't want something serious. While Cindy is looking for something serious and meaningful. Of course, Tom wants something special meaningful with Cindy. But it's not rushing either.

Though Tom does have a standing chance, things don't look well on his side. Too many mistakes. xD What could/should Tom do to get the edge? Well besides continuing showing his interest in Cindy.

Also, Tom wants to show (without words) Cindy that if things went South, that their meaningful friendship would still burn strongly.

Note that Tom hasn't been exactly doing a good job of showing interestt. Not that he doesn't get the message across, but his actions haven't been the smoothest. -.-

and if she does reject you...or waver a bit
just simply pull her in for a gentle hug and give her a gentle kiss on the cheek [the bit near the corner of her lips..like half kissing lip, half kissng cheek]
