Flat Feet

So I've had this problem for quite awhile, it used to be a lot worse before because I was more active a couple years ago but I find myself needing to shed some excess baggage and just general health. I need to start running again, I've tried it but found out my lungs weren't the problem but my feet felt like they were going to shatter.
Anyone have any good suggestions on insoles? I have a pretty good pair of running shoes but I think I need to put in the soles to create an arch or something. I'm sure I can't be the only flat footed on soompi!

my podiatrist recommended Spenco..I have the reverse problem as you, I have a high arch but they're a pretty popular brand that make insoles for all types of feet..available at most drug stores and Foot Locker. My pair was $15. It was great walking in them but once I started on the elliptical my toe hurt..i think it was the way my toe was jammed up against the inside of my sneaker? If you have insurance you should go ask a podiatrist just to get a professional opinion

I have flat feet as well. Because of them, I get ankle pains when I walk too much (I hate running lol) and they hurt like crazy.
You should go get insoles custom made for your feet.
Good luck!

I got insoles since I was 11/12ish. I'm turning 14 very soon, and my feet look alot better. In the store I go to, I need to pay alot of money for the insoles but the shoes that come with them (you get to chose) are free. (Although to me they don't look that good haha). If you are more comfortable wearing your other sneakers you can see if they will fit or you can ask the people to trim them for you so they fit your shoes.
I can't really recommend a brand, I've only tried that aetrex brand so far.
Don't worry, as you can see, many people have flat feet.

Yeah, I have flat feet too! (:
I go to this doctor (i think he's a chiropractor) and he moulds this clay thing around my feet to get an imprint of my feet so the insoles will be specially made just for me!
Try looking for one near you! (:
