Maybe if your have to do a group project in class you can ask to be in his group so you have reason to talk to him? If you sit near him you can ask him for help on the class work and then you can start a conversation asking about what classes he has an etc. Maybe you can ask to borrow a pencil? Those just some ideas, lol.
