I'm going to start working out, but iu have no clue what to start with. Basically i wanna tone up my body and loose weight on my legs and stomach. I just need your opinion on what type of workout i should do when i go to the gym and what to focus on the first week i work out. I'm 5"11 almost 200 lbs I REALLY NEED to loose this weight. And also how many times a wekk would i have to workout?

Personally I would say start with cardio 4 times a week.
This can be Eliptical, Running on a track or treadmill, skipping,
jumping jacks, or bike or whatever else.
You can do whatever type you like, HiiT or just regular paced cardio.
For a beginner especially I would recommend doing paced cardio.
Try to run at a good pace for 30mins each day to start off, gradually
build to 1hour. After you hit an hour just keep trying to increase pace.
If you want to start doing weights, just focus on the compounds.
Bench Press, Squats, and Pull Ups(Pull downs). Just do 3 sets and use
a high rep range like 12-15. I'd lift probably twice a week. This is all
just to get you started and quite basic. You should consider looking
into your diet also as a lot of your gains will be hindered if you don't
have a good diet. Good luck. If you have anymore questions, feel free
to ask.

If you don't usually work out I would actually suggest you join a class or get a personal trainer to help keep you motivated. Working out is something that you have to prioritize until it just becomes part of your regular schedule, otherwise you will always justify a reason to not work out.

A cheaper alternative would be to make a friend go with you and both of you have to stick to it.

As to what to do: if you don't usually work out, find something that seems like fun first. A dance class, yoga, pilates or set a goal like being able to do a pull-up. A small change will show small benefits, and especially if you adjust your diet so you are taking in less calories (especially simple carbs or sugars).

Once you start to see the changes and are motivated I would suggest weight training to help you gain strength and burn fat. If you do supersets you will also have an endurance workout. I wouldn't suggest running since it can be stressful on your joints, especially if you are carrying extra weight and you don't have proper form (again a reason to seek out a personal trainer).

you should do classes! theyre fun and they burn awesome calories LOL.
other than that, i'd suggest swimming cause it burns more than running.
and more than 60% its what you eat, so eat healthy!
GOOD LUCK! biggrin.gif
