I was last based in Florida... but for only a month. I don't really know about going there. I heard it was mad expensive like Hawaii. Though apparently there must've been a pretty sizeable Korean population in Panama City (Tyndall was right next door)... though I didn't really see any the few times I was able to go off base. I'd like to settle someplace where there's a nice Asian-American culture... a place where I wouldn't feel like the minority. White people are starting to irritate me...

Come to Hawaii. Quite frankly, you look like any other guy in Hawaii.. Infact you have the most typical Hawaii local look as you can get! everyone there is mixed East Asian (Japanese, Chinese, Korean, etc) with either Portuguese, Spanish, "white American", Hawaiian, or Filipino. Gas prices are high, but fortunately, you don't have to travel far as everything is conveniently located

there's lots of other areas with Asians, but from my experiences, tend to stick within their own community. I have yet to see anyplace where everyone is as mixed and assimilated with each other than Hawaii.

man, what could make you dislike Hawaii so much o.O.. what Island did you go? Im assuming you were stationed at Hickam?

try Brazil? There's one of the world's largest Asian community there (alot of Japanese, and growing number of Koreans). Guam?

Brazil has over 1.1 million Japanese (largest Japanese diaspora outside of Japan).. almost all of which are Okinawan.. so should remind you of home a lil bit they're almost all around Sao Paulo though where they are 10% of the population.

hmm I think it varies greatly depending on area.. its one of those developing countries where there's alot of rich people and alot of poor people, and not so big a middle class. Portuguese is the main language. Climate varies from area (its a big country).. from Rain forests to the west, tropics up north, and more "European" like in the south (infact the South has more of the "White" Brazilians, basically those of Italian and German descent). I think fellow soompier ShotAmerican would be a better person to ask as her bf is a Japanese-Brazilian.. dunno if he's from Sao Paulo though. From my experiences, Brazilians are very lax on skin.
