Something that has been bugging me these days... instant friends.

You know what I'm talking about? Those people you just met and talked to for like... half an hour, or even two hours. And then bam... an instant friend. Not like an acquaintance (which is what they properly are anyway), but a person that wants to chill, plan something, have lunch, etc.

It's like 75% of the people I've been meeting this past year are like that. Its starting to irritate me because I don't even like 90% of these people.

That's one of the main reasons why I stopped going to the bars. That and there's these two really, really, ugly women that go bar-hopping and try to pick up on ANY dude that's in there. I mean... they are so nasty that you don't even want a free drink (or a whole night's free drinks) from them. The bars have been losing a whole lot of business from them. Consequently, the liquor stores have gained a lot.

I love my job, when I actually get to do it. I hate how we spend more time on BS rather than actual aircraft maintenance. And as much as I love (hate) work... I really do not like showing up at 5:30am and leaving at 6:30pm. Without a lunch break on top of that. And on the weekends, too.

I can't count how many times a day I wish I'd get hurt. Like slipping and falling off the aircraft. Or slipping on a puddle of hydraulic fluid and slamming my head on the floor. Or even having something heavy, like a mallet or wrench, fall and hit my head. With all my brushes with death this past year, I've been pretty disappointed.

We have a deployment to the desert coming up (Afghanistan I heard), but I can't go because I don't have freaking dog tags (they were never issued to me) and it's been forever since I ordered some. We have guys that's been there and done that, and they'd be willing to go back in a heartbeat. They talk about how it's a lot more fun out there than here.

It's not like I don't have enough BS in my personal life (what little of it I have left).

My client just asked me to fire someone and I've never done that before. Can any one help? To add insult to injury, she just had a car accident this morning too. ARrrrrggg %$^%$#^#%^#%%

how long are you supposed to keep things like paychecks, bank statements, old bills, etc.? i'm going through my file cabinet and i just want to weed out everything. thanks.

sometimes i wish there were a manual on like... how to be an adult... and i don't mean emotional issues but like just the stuff on like 401Ks and paying off student loans and credit cards and just all this stuff no one ever really teaches you about.

401K and IRA info can surely be VERY useful to know...especially as a young professional.
same with loans and other forms of debt, and different ways to refinance or consolidate, etc.
might as well include tips on buying real estate, financing your life, etc.

? Me? A financial consultant?

Sadly, I can't say that I'd make a good one. I guess I've got a good mind for organization and budgeting, but not on the how's and where's of investing.....
