Okay here goes...
This has to be the worst song I have ever heard in my whole life. "I'll eat you up, So yum yum?" WtF?
No! No! No!
The same lyrics repeated over and over and over and over.... Ugh. I am disgusted SM could have done better then this. No way in hell!

I got to add, it's only her first song. Not every first tries are the best.
This song may not be the kind I would have imagined as her American debut song.
I honestly thought that SM would do better. But it's something catchy and I grew to like it.
If it fails, then it fails - you fail more then a million times in your life, celebrity or not.
She just has to try harder.
Also, really I don't think it's the worse song you've heard in your life, out of billions of songs in the world this one just ironically ends up being the worse?
But then again, I wouldn't know ..
And with the lyrics issue, there's far worse and disgusting lyrics out there.
For the people in here who likes the song, please support her.

If I say its the worse song i have ever heard you are in no position to deny that because you don't know me. I stated my opinion and you had no right to response to that because I did not bash Boa and anyway.
I mean you can like the song if you want but it doesn't change the fact it sux to me.

I wished they had done a better job in the other verses and she should have practiced those parts more...

you think ppl will give her half a chance if they get turned off and laugh at the first single?
AND she's asian
I mean I'm asian, we gotta be realistic. Americans are generally closeminded and ignorant, not all though.

The music video is very generic and the dancing isn't that great either.
I wish her LUCK, cause she'll need it.

umm.. it's an American release, dear. It was never going to be in Japanese or Korean.

To be fair, Utada was marketed horrifically for her American debut. One of her U.S. singles was titled Easy Breezy with the lyrics, "You're easy breezy and I'm Japanesey." Terrible and mildly racist. Not to mention it had vapid lyrics and a boring music video.
The problem is that BoA and SM look like they're making the same exact mistakes as Utada did. The beat's catchy, but the lyrics are bizarre and the U.S. music video looks plain and gray. Not to mention that I Eat You Up sounds like a colloquialism for oral intercourse.
I wish the best for her, and it would be great if I'm proven wrong and she succeeds, but her prospects look pretty bad right now.
I agree. Many Americans aren't close-minded, and there is racism inherent across the globe.
If BoA does not succeed it will because of poor marketing and song choice. Not racism.

i agree that the marketing was terrible. the lyrics in easy breezy was supposed to be humorous. it was a bad choice on utada's part (no one is used to humor in songs like that). but yeah. this is not an utada thread.
i need to stop stalking this thread until boa's stuff is really released..
