I sometimes bring my laptop to class because it's faster to type notes than hand write them. Anyway, I don't play games but, I definitely use the school internet to check my e-mail and chat with friends. Some times people will be watching movies or movie trailer during the class with headphones on.

I do that when the material is mostly recalling. I can't do that now that I'm taking junior level classes. It used to be weird since I'm playing weird games or watching weird stuff, but I quit caring after the second week : ).

I play RTS if I get bored ... but MMORPG? No way -- I can pause an RTS and pay attention if needed, MMORPG needs constant attention. Anyways, I saw a guy playing WoW during class and it was kinda silly, hahaha.

It seems that my college professors are really strict about laptops...I can't count how many times my professors over the years have had to ban laptops because of people browsing myspace/facebook or playing games...so therefore, I haven't tried playing games, but I've listened to music throughout lectures hiding the earphones/wires. That's the only thing I can get away with. :|

If everything the professor is saying is
1) In his/her lecture notes that will be provided to us
2) Nonsensical
3) Plain stupid (can learn it better from textbook)

I will fall asleep or simply not attend the class. No point in going to a class you aren't going to pay attention to if attendance isn't recorded and counted towards your grade (in which case, attendance isn't recorded in my Uni except for small classes).

I know someone who plays this game called eudemons? or something, some other mmorpg and it is really really really distracting. I'm not saying its her fault that its catching my attention but it is really annoying when people do it. =(

Do it all the time for classes with boring profs.
I usually run BGs in WoW or play DotA 1v1 with my friends.

it's too soon to tell if I play games or not.
I've only brought my laptop to class like three-four times.
I haven't abused my privileges of the internet yet. heh heh.

I'm sooo guilty of that DX

I told myself that I would use my laptop to type notes in only.

But I don't discipline myself very well XD

I rarely play games in class. I wouldn't say I never did... I did once or twice my entire life for a couple of minutes, but I'd much rather listen to a boring lecture than waste my time. I'm not going to school and waste time/money playing games when I can do that at home. Education costs. If you're going to play games in class, don't bother showing up at all. It's very disrespectful for the professor and students around you.

I only play games in class when its LECTURE DAY and for some reason when it's that time my professors never lecture about anything that is relevant to the class..so I just pull out my sidekick and start playing games.

In my second quarter of college, I took this anthropology class that was kind of boring. It was really chill, and a GE at that, so I sort of let my guard down and I'd play games when I got bored. Problem was, I was sitting in the third or fourth row or something like that, so I became quite famous for playing games during lecture since everyone could watch me (even though I had the brightness to 10% laugh.gif). My usual weapon of choice was gostop cool.gif I learned my lesson after the first midterm -- it was a disaster. Now I don't take my laptops to lectures, unless it is for a writing class where I need to take lots of notes fast.

i don't have a laptop, and trying anything else would just make me paranoid of getting caught. and yeah, it's kind of a waste of going to class. the weirdest things i've seen people do are play ds or watching anime in the front row like 5 feet away from the teacher.
