Both of my parents went gray in their late 30's, and my two of my brothers already started showing a few strands of gray hairs in their teens. My dad has since stopped dyeing his hair a few years ago, but my mom hasn't (and they're only in their mid-40's.). This leads me to believe it's genetics. When I found out I had a gray hair a few weeks ago, I freaked out. I'm not old enough to go gray. If my parents is of any indication, then I think I'll start graying in my late 30's.

Do you fear going gray? When did your family members start graying?

my dad's pushing 60 and he hasn't had a single gray hair on his head.
my mom's always stressed out, so she's had a few grays that she covers up by dying her hair.

i'm just praying that i get my dad's genes.

I for one don't fear it. I love gray hair. I've had few strands of gray hair since I was in my teens and right now I have a lot in the front and some on the back. I wouldn't dye them for the world. My parents on the other hand are both in their 50s and both have gray hair, which they've repeatedly dyed black.

I don't fear gray hairs at all. You can just dye it over, so no big deal.

What I do fear are wrinkles and age spots. Those I make me trifle paranoid and I always have sunblock on.

Nothing to fear about grey hair. I have a couple of strands and I'm fine with it.

i've been getting a lot of white hairs since middle school. I'm okay with it. If I ever go all gray or all white, I think I'll be able to pull it off.

When I go, I go. When I age, I age. To go against the wind is foolish.

I had found few white/gray hairs when I was only in elementary school. It runs in the family, I find gray hair cool~ pretend it's silver or something.

haha I rather go gray than bald.

I much rather turn any color hair than to have no hair at all. As everyone has stated, you can simply dye it.

I fear going bald more than going gray to be honest.

It's cool going gray. I'm already going gray and I'm not dying my hair for that.
TJP, that I like.

I'm more scared of wrinkles than gray hair. Actually, balding is worse as well.

With the way my body works, i don't even know if i'll ever go gray. I'm 21 and getting closer 22 and everyone thinks i look 15-16. I shave almost every 3 weeks and it only grows out like a peach fuzz.

I'm already doom. I've been showing a few white strands since after high school... I think my hair is already thinning. It could be a combination of stress and my mom's weak hair. Well, as long as I don't go bald...

i saw my mom last month on a family vacation and i noticed that she was finally (she's like mid-fifties now) starting to get a few gray hairs. but it's cool, because the only place she has them is small touches on her temples. my aunt joked that it looked like perfectly placed highlights, and i complimented my mom on them. it looks distinguished! i never thought much about going gray before, but i think if my hair ends up like my mom's, that'll be pretty cool.

the one thing i don't like about hair when it comes to aging is that it tends to get thinner and less shiny as you age. gray hair can always be colored, but there's only so much you can do about hair loss and poor texture.

Gray hair? I dunno, I think it seems pretty cool. I mean come on, X-Men's STORM! That'd be kinda cool. But I do worry about wrinkles and saggy boobies.
