My Dad wants me to go to Vietnam (I'm vietnamese) and volunteer over there to help the poor and sick. We have family over there who can house me, plus I'm fluent, which makes things considerably easier.

I really want to go because it's so sad seeing people sleep in the streets and children beg you to buy from them (gum, water, etc)

....I have a question though. Can I put this on my college application? I mean, I really want to help the people in general, but this takes up a lot of time of my already limited time.

Would this look good on my college application under "giving back to the community" and etc?

If yes, what would I have to do to proove that I did it?

Pictures? Signatures?

Etc. Please help!

Hun, you don't have to have proof. I never did. Write a personal essay about it. That'll get them better than just listing it as community service.
