but i kind of hate gomez but sometimes i don't. in a way i think he's kinda nice for helping clare and henry out all those years, but it's clear he's only doing it because he has feelings for clare.

the first time i read it, i LOVED it. bawled like an idiot for a large majority of the book, and just loved it to death.
the second time i read it.. eh.. not so much.. i couldn't help but feel like Claire was being trapped into an abusive relationship from the very start :s. okay, lemme clarify this before you all start throwing tomatoes at me.
[MAJOR SPOILER ALERT!! do not read from the following if you haven't read the book. i repeat, MAJOR SPOILER ALERT!!]
Henry knew from the very first day that the met Claire at the meadow the kind of pain he would bring her in her future, yet he continues to (i was gonna say manipulate but..) build a relationship with her. he knew exactly what kind of psychological bagging/trauma he would bestow upon her, yet he continues to seduce her with his "wisdom" and knowlege of the future, stringing her along for the whole ride. i felt like that whole bit where he tells her before dying that she would see him one last time at a very, very old age, was increadibly romantic and sweet of him at first (for giving her hope) but the 2nd around, i felt that it was increadibly selfish of him to do so. she had a hard enough time dealing with him losing his feet, and finding out that he would die, but then to prevent her from moving on with her life by dropping a bomb like that on her? it's just... i dunno... not to mention that whole thing with Ingrid...omg...
that said, i absolutely adore the first half of the book; it's so hilarious and cute^^
alba had better be in the movie since that scene where he meets her for the first time at the museum is one of my favorite scenes. i dunno how they're gonna pull off the movie though.. i mean i had to flip back so many time while reading to check the dates.
No matter what else has changed in you or the world, that one song stays the same, just like that moment.

person2: blah blah blah thoughts here
person1: blah blah blah thoughts here
person2: blah blah blah thoughts here
etc.. sorta like a script
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.
"I don't much care where--" said Alice.
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go,' said the Cat.

The way its written is MUCH better than Twilight. lol.
I never finished it, honestly...
I find the story confusing sometimes.
Like, if he time travels, then so at both times, there must be 2 of him existing in the world at all time? I don't know....

Is the whole book written in this style? I'm planning to read this book after reading the first few comments.. but if the story is really in this script style, I really don't want to read it, cause I can't stand these script-alike-books.

You can judge for yourself here.
A friend of mine recommended it and since he's not into romances at all, I had to give it a go. Well, I only read the first two or so chapters. I didn't find the writing particularly lacking but I dumped it for a rather 'silly' reason which was that the copy I got from the library was just too heavy to lug around. LOL... I'll probably pick it up again at some other point.

It's a really great way for Niffenegger to debut as an author,
but the book wasn't really my cup of tea.
It really bothered me that Henry visits Claire at a young age. It's a weird relationship they started with. I don't know. Time travel just confuses me. I don't understand time travel and maybe that's why I couldn't enjoy the book as everyone else did.

We're coming from the underground, we're not mainstream.
We do what we wanna do.
If that's only possible in the underground then we'd like the underground to be our home. It's good like that." -Kaoru

i just got really attached by the end, and i cried at the ending.
in my opinion, much better written than tear-jerkers like my sister's keeper or teen romances like twilight...though those books were certainly entertaining.

No, its not like a script. Only when they're telling their point of views. When the husband is telling his part of the story it would go
Henry: blah blah blah
and when it switches to the wife's point of view, it goes
Clare: blah blah blah.
Everything else is just like a normal book.
