the reason im wondering this is cause my close friend that's a girl is having a hard time right now and i just want to make her reallly happy

she keeps telling of the little things she loves
such as a younger person keeps telling her she's pretty and he randomly gave her a hug

but im her OLDER friend
so im thinkin itd be really weird if an older guy did that, people or HER might get the wrong idea :/

No, hugs are good...I think they show a girl that he cares.

If you genuinely think this girl is pretty, don't hold back your compliments...if she's having a hard time with something, let her know you're there and give her a hug of comfort. I think all girls need a guy friend like that!

actually, i think its flattering when a stranger tells you. especially if their a girl. cuz i'm a girl, and u know, why would a stanger girl compliment you if she didnt mean it. now ur friends, they could bs with you >_>

I love giving out hugs! And if a guy says that I am cute/pretty, there are 2 responses:

I personally don't think it's weird.
I love it when guys tell me that I look pretty or cute or whatever.
And especially when they say it really randomly.
I have a really close guy friend who does that sometimes and it makes my heart melt.
I don't have a crush on him and I know he doesnt either because he's told me who he likes but
when he compliments me out of nowhere, it really does make me feels special.

For example, this morning I was on the bus and I always sit on the seat across from him with my best friend
and I was sitting there and he just goes, "____, look isn't Yeon so pretty?!"
and that made me feel so special and just made my day ^^

And I love getting hugs from guys ^^
Sometimes, all a girl wants is a sweet guy.

I don't know about the really pretty and cute thing... unless you phrase it right, it could come off as you making a move.

As for the hug; it's normal for friends to hug so it's not a big deal.

If you don't want her to get the wrong idea, don't do things that'll give her the wrong idea... telling her that she's pretty might be one of it.

Anyhoo, everything's a matter of habit. If you start off like that, it might be weird. But after a while, she'd get used to it & she won't find it weird. (:
