Just wondering, if anyone has actually gone that extra step of becoming a pilot.
Its a long risky road to take but in the back of my mind, I've always thought of having a career related to aviation.
Unfortunately, the job market sucks right now in this field.
Not to mention, there are numerous pros/cons in this field...
so much so that a lot of people choose much safer routes to take.

So is anyone going down this route? Or know anyone?
What steps did you take to go towards it? Did you graduate college? Took the military step?
Any stories to tell?
Oh please do tell It would be a dream to fly a commercial plane for me...

Sadly, no I am not. But my roommate is. He just started his flight lessons. What steps did he take? He is majoring in Aviation, and so he decided to come to my college. I do know that he had to take Women in Aviation class. I believe that is one of the required courses here.

If I can't even land a plane in a frigging flight simulator game at Dave & Busters, I have no business entertaining any ideas of trying to become a pilot.

^LOL, I have never even been on a plane before, so never had the idea of becoming a pilot cross my mind.

I did. When I was in highschool my mother worked for Qantas airlines and they offered free commercial pilot training (so long as you will work for Qantas afterwards) for staff's family members. I wanted to go but I wasn't old enough.

My cousin is currently in the Air Force, but his commission is ending soon and he has to start thinking about what he wants to do. Work for a major airline or re-commission in the Air Force. There's not much of a job market for pilots right now, and I'm not familiar w/ the specifics, but if you want I can ask him his take on it. He's flying to Spain right now, he should be back Friday.
