I am thinking about applying for a private student loan since i am working at least 32 hrs a week trying to pay half my tuttion.
Also, if you apply for a private student loan, which lender did you choose?

In addition to tuition, I also have to pay rent, which my parents help me out with. They contribute 500$ each month for partial rent, everything else (food, expenses, travel, bills, etc) I take care of. I'm lucky because I have several relatives who like to "donate" money (hundred/couple hundred at a time) to me because they're afraid I'm going to starve, haha.
So that's how I am surviving the financial part of college life right now. ;]

Since I'm sharing a 1 bedroom apartment with 2 other people my rent is pretty cheap... ~$300/mo. Usually I can pay for that with my paycheck, and my sister's rent too. .__.;;
I wonder how out of state and international students do it... .__.;;

I only had to pay for living, which I survived by working part-time.

I'm an out of state but pay as much as an international student.... errr, let me take that back, I'm considered an international student tuition wise.
My parents pay for everything right now but if our financial situation takes a turn for the worse I'll be taking out loans.

a lot of need-based university grants, need-based federal grants, some scholarships from outside sources, and i currently hold an RAship so my housing/food is taken care of by the university.
generous grant money is one of the biggest benefits of attending a private school, assuming that they have a large endowment.

simple solution: don't ask for money in the first place. get a part-time job on or near campus so you don't have to depend on them financially.

Why not just do that? Tell them just to give you a couple hundred every month or something, enough to survive basics with some left over, and use the part time job for more money.
