I remember in grade six I got in detention with a teacher that was on lunch duty because I petted my best friend and said "good doggy"(we had an inside joke where she was my pet dog), in front of her. I had to stay in her class for a whole recess and write a one page reflection letter on why what I did was wrong. When I asked her why I was in trouble, she told me that it wasn't right to say something like that during friendship week : |

I never got detention, but I'm a 7th and 9th grade teacher now...and I give a lot of them. It's like, "I'm sorry. Yes, you're really unhappy and angry. But you made your class assignment into a paper airplane and have been throwing it across the room. I've told you to stop talking about five or six times. You had it coming."

You guys have to understand...I deal with about 750 students a week. That's a lot. Teachers get sick of hearing the same fake excuses and seeing laziness. A lot of us work really hard to make lesson plans and it sucks when students completely disregard it. It especially sucks when you have 3/4 of the class that wants to listen and learn, but 1/4 continues to act like little monkeys. It's obnoxious as crap.

Lol I want to email all of my old middle/high school teachers and just APOLOGIZE for all the times I fell asleep in class or didn't stop talking. Teaching is hard, man.

This didn't happen to me but i thought it was funny and memorable. There was this black dude name Zay (or something along those lines) in my english class back in 8th grade who was like the trouble maker of the class. So i guess the teacher dislike him already...Anyways there was this one day when the teacher was giving a lecture and he "accidently" farted. And like the 8th graders we were everyone in the class busted out laughing. For that he got a dention for farting...=D

i got ISS (In School Suspention) for being tardy to class. but the thing is, the bell rang when i was about to step into the room v.v"! the teacher told me to go back out and then i was in the hall sweep.

ugh...i hated that day in ISS. it seemed like i was out of place. lol.

My friend got a detention just last week for pulling a paper out of her binder.
Yeaaaaaah.
BUT, she complained to another teacher, who complained to the administrator,
and now the teacher she received the detention from is apparently getting fired. o.o

I didn't get a detention but when I was in elementary school, I got in trouble by the teacher for putting a sad face on my partner's test correction.
..Which even HE himself was okay with because we graded eachother's papers like that.
Argh, so stupid. =_=;

There was this other time I almost got in detention because I kicked this guy who literally SCREAMED loudly in my ear.
The teacher asked me to scream to show her how loud it was but since I couldn't, she figured it was all my fault. >_>;

So I made a run for it, when I come back I get a detention even after I explained myself.

Oh and I think chewing gum=detention is silly.

omg, my biology teacher last year gave me detention. it was because this stupid boy kept calling my name, so then i answered him so he would shut up, and then i got detention. i was like WHAT? i wasn't even loud!

and this other time that my Home Ec. teacher who is a pain in the butt last year, she was like no talking. i didn't even say anything, and she's gonna give it to me and my whole table. it wasn't even us, but i got out of it haha!

well I actually enjoyed my detention int the 6th grade ever since I found out that the teachers room I had to stay in let us kids go on the computers and play games hehe it was pretty cool for me, just sucked that those were early morning detention

It actually wasn't detention, but a threatened misdemeanor mark, which is basically just as bad as a detention at my school if not worse...

I was like .5 secs late for class. I was half-way in the door + the gym teacher (I was going into
Music class) Pulled me out of the room + told me to go to the office I SO should have fought it ..
but I was a Freshie ... 14 ... young and stupid.

D-Hall wasn't bad in my school though, we just sat there for 45 min and did homework.

Ok so this is REALLY retarded.

Boys and Girl ride in the same bus for soccer games but girls play first, then the boys. Well we have to sit in the bleachers and watch the boys game until we can go home because we can't leave without them and we're not allowed to leave with our own parents (wtf).

SO...I did my homework while the boys game was on. I still sat with everyone, looked up occasionally, and tried to keep up with the game. Apparently doing my homework showed poor sportsmanship, I got kicked off the soccer team.
