I know the typical answer would be "Obviously not pay because you have no money" but something more..
Like would you guys go extreme ways to find money to leave tip? Or if you can't, tell the waitress that you're sorry that you don't have money left(kind of sounds ridiculous but...) ? OR just not pay and leave?

there are times when i go out to eat with friends,
and after, we don't have enough to tip them ):

so we just pay the bill, leave it on our table, say thankyou, and just rush out the door.
then i don't go to the restaurant for a while so they wouldn't remember my face.

Gosh, I wouldn't leave the house without extra money for tip or my credit card. Waiters don't make that much and rely on tips.

I have never had that happen before but, I guess I would leave but I would feel really guilty and tip more next time. But, usually I count my money and check I have enough to pay and tip when I choose what I want to eat.

I always bring extra money with me and lots of change so that has never happened to me before. Plus my friends all hold change too so we all just chip in a little to pay for it.

I guess really all you can do it just up and leave if you really don't have enough for tip... If you say or don't say anything, either way the waiter might still think you're just being stingy. Maybe write a little mini note apologizing to them and tip extra the next time you come back? XD

i don't mind because i can understand sometimes
but it's sort of rude to ask for a lot of things and not leave any.

The only time I've not tipped in the US is when I've had exceptionally poor service. I guess it's been maybe three or four times in Washington, D.C.?

Anyway, if you're eating in a sit-down restaurant that has tipping, it's really silly to not think everything out before you order it. The great thing about Korea...NO TIPS!!!!!!!!!!! I only tipped once (an American $1) because I was drunk.

That's what credit cards are for. =D If I have enough cash to pay for my bill but not enough for tip, I jsut put everything on my credit card. But if the waitress is lousy, sometimes I wont' even give them a tip.

When she said that her friend did not have enough money to pay for it, I was under the impression she was referring to her friend not being able to afford the BBT. If you can't afford the meal and you dine-and-ditch, that is stealing and that is illegal.

Yeah, I also do the same as you.
I don't think they will remember your face that clearly because there's a gazillion customers everyday.
You don't have to tip them...I think. I mean, I only tip them because if I don't then they will start saying I'm the type who is self-fish. I heard a lot of waitress and waiters talking behind a customer's back because they didn't tip them enough or didn't. ^^
