How much does it usually cost to get braces? and not both top and bottom, but just the top?

What if you put braces on the top, and the top teeth won't fit with the bottom teeth.? They have a domino effect after all..

My sister got her braces done top and bottom for $7000 AUS dollars in total and also an extra cost of $900 for plates in order to decrease the chance of pulling any teeth out. So around $5700 US dollars for just the top and bottom? :S Well I live in Australia, I'm not sure how different the braces cost.

Usually when you do your teeth don't you do both top and bottom in order to fix the jaw? My sister's bottom teeth were like really really perfect, but yet it was recommended from the dentist to get that done as well. Well I recommend you to do top and bottom as well, after she did it she lost all her baby fat and gained also a v-line. I envy her as hell.

It cost me about $4000 CAD. Close to 5000 I think. But if you have dential insurance, it will probably minimize the cost.
and, yes, your face will become slimmer because it's harder to eat with braces. It hurts once it get's tightened, and you will almost stop eatting for 3 days, and times that by, about 24, because on avg, people have braces for a year.
haha, but if your face is already slim, with very little baby fat, I don't think it's gonna get any slimmer. D:

but, yah....you can't have just top. I was thinking that before I had braces before, and I thought, hey I can jsut have top, because my bottom are 'perfect'
but really, you almost NEED to have top and bottom, because then, your teeth won't fit together.
^^;; so yah...you will probably need top and bottom, and cost maybe be about 5000. depending on where you live.

i got mine about a year and a half ago. i think they were $4500 USD. and my teeth weren't even crooked, i had a really, really bad overbite.

during my last appointment, they said that i wouldn't have them off for a looooooong time. -___-;; most of my friends tell me that i didn't even need braces in the first place, and that my teeth are really straight now.

but just a heads up, once you get elastics/rubber bands, WEAR THEM. always wear them. if you don't, you'll have your braces longer.

my dentist said it depends on the duration you have them.
my braces (duration is 3 and a half years, plus a year with retainers after) in total cost 6500$, including the retainer that im going to need.

I got both top and bottom, I've never heard of anyone getting it for just the top so I don't know. It was around $4000 CDN, I think? Including retainer afterwards - make sure you ask whether or not the price includes retainers.

You can go and ask at different orthodontists ... most should offer a free consultation. Other than asking them about price you should also ask them whether or not you should just get them on the top or on the bottom, too, etc.

depends on how much work you need done
what type of braces your getting ( the convectional silver braces, or the ones with the 'clear' brackets. which i would get, they tend to stain and turn yellow -__-; ew)

for my top and bottom it was $6000 CDN, and my mom's work(insurance) covered some of it. only a couple hundred though

It depends on the case of each person. I am spending about $5,000 top and bottom. You just need to check with your dentist if you need both or one or the other. It does change the shape of your face a bit.

it depends on where you are and how bad your teeth are. I have braces on top and bottom and they were $7500. I got them behind my teeth though

I just got my braces about two months ago (the top for now, I'm getting my bottom ones during my next visit)
my bottom teeth are okay but there is this one crooked one in the top row. I thought I only need to get top braces (because of that one tooth) but my orthodontist said it's a 'package' (top and bottom)
Well I guess it makes sense since your top teeth impacts your bottom ones.
I'm not sure if that's just true for Canada or...the whole orthodontic...industry...

Well I've had my braces for ~4 years now (but I get them off in December yesss! ) and it's costed 10 grand. Yup. But then again my teeth are horrible (thanks, dad) and a brace would always break off every 2 weeks.

I had the clear brackets, top and bottom, and I think they cost $3000-$4000 USD.
Well worth the price though. And as others have said, you should get bottom ones, too,
or else your mouth won't align.

but i didnt get any teeth taken out tho *phew*
