Now that everyone is 20+ and most of you make your own living, how much do you spend a month on goodies, shoppping, going out, etc.?

When all my bills were paid for by my parents I used to spend like 500-700 a month on just clothes. But now that I'm paying for most of my bills and trying to make a living on my own, I can barely afford to spend any money besides necessities. I feel like I've down graded a lot (with clothes, luxuries, etc.) from when I was in high school. *Sigh* I guess this is the real world.

Honestly, it varies. Some months I buy a few fancy electronic device that I know I don't need, other months, I am too busy working to go out and enjoy myself so I spend little to no money on luxuries. I guess I could say I spend anywhere from 50-1000 bucks on bars, clubs, fancy dining, electronics, clothes. It really all depends on my purchases and what I feel like. I don't tend to go over board.

If my favorite past time for the month was staying home and watching K-Dramas, yeah.. I'd save a LOT of money. However, if I was into clubbing and bar hopping, it'd get a bit more expensive... If I go to Vegas? Yeah.. game over.

At one time, i spent nearly everything i had and everything my credit card would allow me to spend. Then, right when i think i have no more credit and that it's time to change my spending habits, the banks would send me letters saying they've boosted my limit up a few thousand. Those bastages! They feast on people who are in financial need!

My spending has been decreasing over the past few years. I used to be big on DVDs and video games, but after awhile, it just took up space and I got bored of it. There are so many clothes you can buy. How many leather jackets can I have? How many shoes can I have? I'd say I spend $500 a month. I really don't buy too many clothes, video games, dvds, etc. I'd say I spend usually $100 on that- the rest is food and music (records).

I guess I don't look at it... But if you ask me how much I would spend on personal expenses (since I got nothing to spend for the house and its facilities) I guess convert to American currency it's about $500 a month, because of gas, cigs and of course whatever I think I could come up buying...

After monthly expenses, gas, groceries, and the like, I set aside about $335.83 to play with each month.
It all goes to movies, mexican food, and Hooters. mellow.gif

After my bills are paid and after I set aside some money in savings my monthly budget is usually around $600. Except for this month when I paid for my parents wedding anniversary trip to Hawaii & and their hotel.

What does allowance cover? Things you want (i.e. for girls, clothes) + entertainment?

If this is the case.... I would probably average..... $300-$500 every month. It's a lot for me too. I usually spend that money on car parts or hanging out with friends at bars or go drinking.

Haha, I suppose it does - but it wasn't my intention.
If anything, I meant for it to emote my resignation over what is essentially my sad state of affairs concerning diet and social life. mellow.gif

I still live my parents but I haven't received allowance in years... so I spend what I make. I don't have to pay for bills such as housing, so yeah, I basically spend around a grand a month on shopping+entertainment+food... haha.

$0 for luxuries as of now. In a few months it's going to be different cause I recently paid off my student loan. I buy no luxuries cause I had one goal in mind....to pay off my student loan. I think I "might" set aside $200 on luxuries now but I have to save up for a trip across the world.
