Lately, I've been thinking about buying the new iPod Touch for $230.
I know I access the internet on it, but does it have efficient speed?
And am I able to use MSN on it? xD
If you can, please post any pros and cons ty!

emm, I have the 1st gen touch but I'm guessing the wifi speed would be the same?
The internet speed is pretty good.
It's actually not slow for me. Well, I guess that depends on your connection thingo. o_o

I'm not sure about the msn thing since I have the older touch. I don't think I can use msn, well if i can, I don't know how. T_T
meh, useless post, sorry. lol.

But I was also thinking of getting the 2nd gen since it has the speaker and the external volume controls.

I have the first generation ipod touch, but i've seen the second generation.

The only difference in the two is that the second generation is thinner and has external speakers and volume controls. Also, the second generation ipod touch has a better battery life - since the first one sucked (if you have the first generation, you can easily upgrade to the 2.1 filmware)

As far as internet goes, it depends on how close you are to a router. I use my ipod as a computer in my room and its halfway across the house, but still gives me good connection (while my laptop connection sucks). I'm pretty sure that you can download the MSN app onto your ipod, since there is already an AIM one.

To sum it up:

PROS of the SECOND GENERATION:

+ better battery life (but you can upgrade your 1st generation ipod rather then buying a new one)
+ external speakers and volume control
+ thinner (but the 1st generation is already thin enough)

CONS:

- similar to the first generation in a sense

Hoped this helped you!

I have the new Ipod Touch.

Apparently from what I've told it has faster Wi-Fi compared to the old one, but I haven't used the old one enough to determine the difference. And yes you can use MSN on it, but it's not actually an official MSN program. It's called All-In-One IM application. It allows you to use a bunch of IMs including MSN. It works decent. But sometimes you might crash and disconnect which might be annoying. You can log back in though.

The pros - The external speaker I've found a lot of use for. I mean whenever I need to show a group of friends a youtube video, the speaker really comes in handy. From what I've told, there's an increase in sound quality which once again, haven't used the 1st generation enough to tell the difference, but it's not bad. It's a lot nicer to hold since it has the curvy back and much more thin.

Cons? Pretty much the same as the 1st gen Ipod touch because it has the same software hardware, nothing actually really new.
