I'm thinking about applying there and I was wondering if any of you guys went there and could give me any tips or advice, or just tell me what it's like. Also I heard first-years are required to live in the dorm, is this true? I live like 30 min away from it so it doesn't apply to me correct?

Thanks in advance...

umm my advice is don't apply there. Honestly george mason is pretty boring. Academically its a pretty decent school but if you want the whole college experience I advise to go to madison tech radford odu vcu anywhere but mason. And no freshman dont have to live on campus.

lol So Mason's boring... Well from what I've Madison is like a party school, and I'm definitely not applying to VCU because it's like easier to get into and isn't as good of a college even if it isn't as boring...

yea that's true you should definitely go to tech or madison. I'd rather go to Tech though because Madison is all white people. I'm not racist but I like being surrounded by different ethnicities more. At mason everyone commutes but more and more people are living on campus. Mason is really strict when it comes to alcohol and parties. If you REALLY want to go to mason I recommend going to another college your first year, have fun, then transfer to mason once you're ready to buckle down and study.

Oh it also depends on your major. if you want to major in Business then Mason all the way cause their business programs are amazing. very competitive but very good.

But anyways I guess ill just go where the money's at and go into business and get a totally boring 9-5 job which will require me to cut my long hair T.T

if i were u i'd go to JMU cuz they also have a good business school or Va Tech
i go to VCU and commute and i really don't like this school either way, its downtown its ugly down there
you can say VCU has more ethnicities blah blah so what, like race makes a difference, get out of your comfort zone, i hate VCU cuz its almost the same as highschool how all the stereotypical Asians hang w/ each other etc..etc..but thats how i am

i don't know what kind of person you are but i'd prefer somewhere away from home, and a beautiful campus like Tech's or JMU's than walking far distances in an ugly campus w/ homeless ppl asking you for money and crossing streets etc which is VCU, the only pro is that ppl like it cuz it has so many people
i wish i could turn back time, i mean u can call the JMU or Va tech's campus is boring but u will be hanging out w/ your friends and doing more stuff and bonding
VCU is tho good in Art and the Medical field but i mean w/e your decision
how many times must I fall over and over again? and when will i finally succeed at a such a vital point in my life while my time is dwindling away???

why would a job make you cut your long hair?? that's life sad.gif work work work... that's why youshould have fun for the next four years! I had no idea what I wanted to major in either so I just applied undecided. Actually don't stress about majors because theyre not as important as you think... unless you want to become a doctor or lawyer or something specific, which means you'd have to go into the medical field, or else you can major in anything. Cause once you're out in the real world, most people work in jobs that have nothing to do with their field. On top of that, your job usually will require training which is something your job will provide so majors aren't a biggie. Don't stress smile.gif If you need any other advice you can ask me anytime!

Oh yea and the person on top of me made a good point. There's a lot of cliques and groups at mason. asians with asians black people with black .. etc.. I also wish I could go back in time and work a little harder to get into tech.

o_o I just always assumed i would have to cut my hair because well... you don't see many businessmen walking around with hair like Jaejoong or any other asian celeb lol...

But then again I'm gonna have to cut my hair when i get older anyways... can't go walking around with that kinda hairstyle at 30.

*sigh* Growing up kinda sucks...
