What's your own definition to the word. don't use dictionary definition. the point of the essay is to define the word in what you think.

You should define your word through a narrative, it works best that way.

Isn't asking other people for their definitions defeating the purpose of this exercise? I'm fairly sure your teacher gave you this assignment in hopes that you would think of something creative and compelling on your own. Asking us is like using the dictionary -- and although you may not use what someone else says word-for-word, if you take their ideas, you are essentially plagiarizing.

Like you said, the point of the essay is to define the word as you see it, not as we see it. Give it some thought. These aren't really difficult words to write essays on.

i'm narrow minded...but here goes..lol. sry if my definitions aren't in the right parts of speech...too lazy
beautiful- eye-catching, satisfying (sight), breathtaking
obsession- addicted to something
happiness- state of enjoying life
good person- opposite of evil person, one who is benevolent and righteous
smart- having wisdom and knowledge, genius mind
promise- verbal agreement not meant to be broken
