I'm currently a senior in high school and I'm getting ready for college applications.
I've lived in America for the past 8 years on a F2 visa, a dependent of my mom who has a F1 visa.
I was born in South Korea, lived there until I was 6 yrs old,
then moved to Saipan, an island in the Northern Marianas Islands, when i was 6 yrs-9yrs
then I immigrated to America when i was 9 years old&have been going to school until now, 12th grade.
So, I'm a citizen of South Korea.
Therefore, i need to apply as an international student.
I know that I have to take the TOEFL because my SAT scores aren't great & my GPA is only a 3.5-3.6
I heard that applying as an international student is much more competitive, is it true? With my GPA of 3.5-3.6 and a SAT score of only 1600, I don't think I have a very good chance >_< BUTTTTTT. My extra curriculars, sports, volunteers are really unique and it's really good.
The school's I'm applying for are, (I live in Washington, btw)
University of Washington (TOP CHOICE, but i know i don't have a good chance-_-;;)
Washington State University
Seattle University
Western Washington University
Gonzaga University
SO, my question is, are international admissions more competitive, especially in washington, and what do you think my chances are&how i stand as an international applicant? Suggestions are appreciated :]

Hi, I am also an international student.
From what I know, it is competitive for international students to gain admission into a good university in the states. That's because it was always the ones with top SAT scores and great GPAs plus outstanding ECA that got admitted into those schools. Besides, if you are planning to apply for financial aid, your chances will somehow be lower.
But there are also students that got admitted into the schools, thanks to a killer essay and great recommendation letters from their counselors and their teachers. Since you have mentioned about your unique ECAs, maybe you would want to put that into your essay/personal statements. Who knows, maybe they'll like your essay =)
And oh, maybe you wanna retake your SAT again? Perhaps your score will increased.
Hope that helps!
