Daily Hair Loss How much is too much?

So I've been wondering for a while now....how many strands of hair are we supposed to lose each day? I read online somewhere that everyone loses about 100 strands each day....but I'm not sure if that's true cuz it sounds like a lot o__O;;
I ask this because for about 3-4 years, I noticed I was losing more hair than I usually do when I wash my hair....
At first, I thought it was because of the fact that I dyed my hair too much...cuz I've dyed my hair every 6 months since I was 12....and I'm 23 now....so I stopped dying my hair for about 2 yrs....but I still haven't noticed any changes in hair loss. I still lose about 30-40 strands when I shampoo (which I do daily) and maybe around 20-30 while I sleep and do other activities....
Is this normal? I've noticed I have less hair now than when I was younger....maybe they're just growing at a slower pace than losing?
I'm getting really worried now....
Any comments, experiences, suggestions would be great.

there's always rogaine..... don't sweat it too much unless you're taking out clumps of hair....

my friend went to the doctor and found out that she had a thyroid problem which was causing her to lose hair. i THINK she started taking medicine to correct it. it didn't take long for everything to get better.
in my case though, it was the shampoo that i was using -- garnier fructis. everyone else loves the stuff so i didn't suspect it. but once i switched shampoo, i stopped losing as much hair and it started to grow back.
so your situation could be caused by a lot of things, but if it's enough to bother you it wouldn't hurt to get it checked out?

Plus, people told me that I need to take Vitamine B pills, and so I did. xD;
PS: I lost like..50-100+ hair every day..and that wasn't normal imo. ~___~

Then I realised my shampoo was too heavy and then I switched to one specifically for fine hair.
Today I only dropped like maybe 10 strands only in the shower?
I don't know whether you have fine hair like me, but I realised that when my hair is too long or when the shampoo is too greasy then I drop lots of hair.

If I have to choose between Time and Procrastination, I'll choose Time, but Procrastination will always get me. How unfair life is.

Although 50-100 and even 200 strands of hair lost per day is normal, it really depends on the person.
I went to my doctor and they did blood work.
But I don't have a thyroid problem.
(Thyroid problem or hormonal imbalance are some causes of sudden loss of hair)
Or maybe your hair is in its "resting period" whatever that means.
I read something about it but I don't want to go into detail since I might be telling you wrong information.
I think when I dyed by hair, the bleach burned the follicles and my hair started to fall out.
Now I'm using Nioxin and Nexxus shampoo to bring back my once-thick hair.
And I'm also taking Biotin (which isn't really helping very much).
My supervisor told me the same thing happened to her and she took a whole load of vitamin B supplements, like what someone stated above.
I have yet to find the cause or answer to my hair loss.

All this has made my hair grow back thicker over the course of about a year.
I have also heard that massaging your head for about 10 minutes each day stimulates growth! O:
Maybe you can try some of these tips and hopefully they help. O:
But remember your body takes its sweet time so don't be too worried if nothing happens overnight. ^^

people with faster hormonal growth may experience fast hair loss too
basically, when the body is adjusting, hair loss will occur
being unhealthy causes hair loss, ie smoking/drugs/drinking etc
but sometimes, for no reason, u may malt more than u should be
but it usually lasts a short period only, like weeks to months
its the same as y some ppl have white hairs and others dont. it depends on the person and their genetics
