In Canada, there is an organization called Free the Children, which was started by Craig Kielburger when he was in his teens. Today, they have a sister branch called Me to We (Leaders Today), where you can go overseas and help build a school, a water pump/another type of developmental project.
I'm considering going to China to volunteer. It's been a dream of mine to help the people there in any way I can, a reason being I have roots from China. If I decide to actually do this, it will be my first time going overseas to volunteer and being the first time, I have some worries.
So has anyone here volunteered overseas? Any advice/experiences you would like to share? Anyone interested in going with me (haha... xP)??
