Synopsis
KIM Suk-hyun is Korea's youngest appointed criminal court head judge, very famous for his rational rulings. It is before his court that the case of distinguished mathematics professor SOHN Ki-chul's murder of his wife is presented. While examining SOHN's file, Suk-hyun finds SOHN's life unbelievably parallels Kurt G�del's. But KIM believes fate is what one makes of it, and just regards SOHN as a crazy old professor who killed his wife. One day, Suk-hyun gets a strange phone call threatening the lives of his wife, Yoon-kyung, and his young daughter. Before long, Yoon-kyung turns up dead, and SOHN dies of starvation�just like G�del.

Jin-hee Ji stars in �Parallel Life�

Jin-hee Ji, popular actor of such films as �Soo,� �The Old Garden� and �Bewitching Attraction� will star in the upcoming South Korean film �Parallel Life.� His co-star will be Jong-hyeok Lee (Crush and Blush, Radio Days, Miss Gold Digger).

Jin-hee Ji will play a junior judge that experiences mystifying events. His life seems to follow the fate of another judge who lived some 30 years ago. Also, his wife died on the same day that the chief judge died. Meanwhile, Jin-hee Ki tracks a mysterious case that happens around him. Co-star Jong-hyeok Lee plays a rival district attorney.

�Parallel Life� begins filming at the end of October and is expected to be released sometime in 2009.

Ha Stars in Parallel Life with Ji Jin Hee

Ha stars in a thriller, Parallel Life ( tentatively titled ) with Ji Jin Hee. It was announced at the CJ Entertainment�s Night on October 4 while Pusan International Film Festival.

Parallel Life is directed by Kwon Il Soon and produced and distributed by CJ Entertainment. Parallel Life is that people living in different time experience same occurence such as similarity of Lincoln and Kennedy�s death. Cj Entertainment official said that Ha would play very impressive role.

Ji plays youngest judge, Kim Seok Hyeon following same fate of Han Sang Joon who lived 30 years ago. Lee Jong Hyeok plays J�s rival prosecutor Lee Gang Seong.

This starts filming in late October and is expected to be released in 2009.

CJ unveils Cannes market lineup
Led by 'Mother,' 'Thirst,' co-pros and genre films

SEOUL--CJ Entertainment will lead its Cannes Film Market next month with "Mother" and "Thirst," two of the most anticipated South Korean films opening this year.

At Cannes from May 13-24, "Mother," director Bong Joon-ho�s ambitious follow up to "The Host" (2006), is the story of a widow trying to prove her son's innocence after he becomes a murder suspect.

In "Thirst," director Park Chan-wook adds the offbeat romance of his previous work "I�m a Cyborg, But That�s Okay," to the story of a small-town priest reborn as a vampire who has an affair with his friend's wife.

CJ's Cannes lineup also will feature a handful of coproductions scheduled for market screening, including Ema Jin's co-pro with China, "Sophie�s Revenge," starring Zhang Ziyi ("Memoirs of a Geisha"), and "Sayonara Itsuka" by John H Lee ("Cut Runs Deep"), starring Hidetoshi Nashijima ("La Maison De Himiko").

CJ also will take Korean genre films to Cannes, including "Private Eye," a period crime thriller about a physician secretly practicing his autopsy skills with a body he found in the woods, featuring Hwang Jung-min ("A Good Lawyer's Wife"). "Castaway on the Moon" (previously called "Kim�s Island"), directed by Lee Hey-Jun ("Like a Virgin"), is about a man who finds contentment on a deserted island and "Parallel Life," by Kwon Ho-young, is about a judge entangled in a murder case.

J.K. Youn's "Haeundae," a disaster movie that sold to 11 countries at the Hong Kong Filmart, also will go to Cannes.
