hmm well i dont know about the first one, but 12 hours a week so its about ~2 hrs a day. Now are you looking to do cardio or weight training because if your planning to doing any weight training you need to give your body a rest for at least 24-48 hours.

1. There is but you need to consistently have a calorie deficit and
lose weight slowly. It wont say you need to burn "x" number of calories
so you'll be an "x" number of weight. You need to look at it on a daily/weekly
basis.

2. Get rid of the cookies. Eat nuts or something instead.
Are you going to be exercising? Your breakfast should
contain BOTH carbohydrates and protein. So if you only eat
the omelet your body will lack the essential carbs for your
brain to function at maximum capacity in the morning. Also if
you skip the protein your muscle will lack the nutrients they need
especially when coming out of a catabolic state. You should
have like a chicken caesar salad instead of just a plain. Don't
overkill the dressing though. This is what i say in all
other posts 5-6 meals is best. Broken down in small portions.
Keeps the metabolism from slowing down.

PS. If you're not already exercising or thinking about it
you should seriously take it into consideration as it will speed the
process considerably.

Maybe instead of 2 chocolate cookies you can have some grapes?

^wtf?

anyway, you need way more protein than that...you're gonna feel extremely hungry. If you must eat rice, eat brown rice or rice with beans (kong-bap).

for the omlette, try egg whites (leave out the yolk) in there. If you're eating cereal, I suggest whole grains (none of that sugary stuff) with nuts. I'd honestly eat both (just small portions of the omlette and a small bowl of cereal).

for lunch...yikes. Try adding in some grilled chicken AND add the fruits.

dinner sounds ok as long as that "half a bowl" means half a bowl of the rice and not the whole meal.

for a snack...say no to the cookies, and say yes to a few tablespoons of hummus (and lots of celery, or carrots, whichever one you prefer).

I honestly think this is going to be too much for you to stick to (considering your weight, i'm assuming you're going to be cutting back A LOT of calories). but you can try searching for 1500 calorie meal plans on google if you need more ideas.

oh and water is your friend. besides skim milk, water should be the only thing you're drinking with your meals.

sounds good, but its better if u exchange your lunch with dinner. Its okay to eat cookie, but eat 1 will do…
and 12 hrs a week, say 4 days, that’s 3 hrs a day! Take it easy, you’re just starting I guess, make it 8 hrs. 4 times a week, :]

and drink milk after u exercise

I am also trying to lose some weight nowadays and I found this website yesterday http://www.hpathy.com/healthtools/calories-need.asp

I don't know if it's accurate or not but try it anyway.

It's better to eat some kind of real food for snacks not chocolate chip cookies. Cookies are high in calorie and saturated fat (I've been checkin labels!) When I am really craving for something that feels like chips or cookies, I eat popcorn. It's healthier.

QUOTE (you)
breaksfast- omlette (sausage, onion) OR bowl of cereal
lunch- salad with little dressing + veggies (tomatos) OR fruits (no grapes)
dinner - half bowl of rice with meat + veggies
snack - 2 chocolate cookie

Questions:
1. Which gender?
2. Age?
3. Height?
4. Have you stopped growing?
5. Cardio or Weight-Training?

I suggest:
아침:
-Vanilla/non-flavored soy milk [if possible, black soy bean milk(this stuff is great!)].
-Only egg-white omlette [the yolk is too much] with - mushroom, one slice of turkey/chicken [no red meats(which is beef/pork)!] per two large eggs [one large egg=1.5 regular egg], carrots, cucumber. You should be able to control the amount of carrot and cucumber. Don't put too much for you, otherwise you'll ChaeHae [not digest right] your food and it'll be bad... D; [LOL. DUH!]

점심:
-Salad with NO DRESSING [dressing=liquid fat (if you absolutely must, then make a light dressing of 간장[soy sauce(use a LIGHT one)] and 식초(vinegar)] and put a half-table spoon per bowl of salad [should be organic, and a mix of greens, some purple 상추].
-Have you ever tried Odwalla Superfood? Well, it's going to be something similar to that: Veggies and Fruits in a blender. [Odwalla Superfood is too sweet]

저녁:
-현미 쌀(the rice w/ the "skin" still on. [NO WHITE RICE! NEVER!] with BEANS! Definitely some 김치! For meats, stay away from red meats [beef/pork] and stick to birds/fish. [Recent studies have shown eating 고등어 more than once a week may lead to paralysis later in life because of its high mercury content. Salmon is the next worse. Tuna is somewhat okay... Just eat fish once a week, and stick to birds (no deep-fry or skin because its all fat) for the rest of your meat. But, if you really want red meat, make sure to cut off the fat.]

스넥:
-A bit of fruit in the morning. There's a saying among health-conscious people. Fruit: Gold in the morning, silver during the day, and bronze during the night. So, it means best to eat it in the morning.
-During the day, try celery. [NO PEANUT BUTTER!] It's been proven that you burn more calories from digesting a stick of celery than it has calories to begin with. .__.
-You can slip in a small yogurt here and there. I recommend YoPlus for the better digestion.

Tips:

-Don't eat three big meals. Instead, eat five or six smaller meals throughout the day. It supports healthy digestion and you don't eat as much because you don't become very hungry since you'll be eating five to six times a day.
-Weight you lose from not eating will come right back. Weight lost from exercise will stay off. Especially weight-training since muscles burn a lot more calories than fat does to function well.
-First thing to do when you get up is to drink a cup of water. Its been proven to hep digestion! biggrin.gif
-Don't sit down right after exercising, it makes your butt big (which=more weight). D;
-When running, don't come to a sudden stop, gradually slow down. If you suddenly stop, it gives 무리 [strain] to the heart.
-Don't be afraid to vary your diet a bit. I based this on what you wrote...
-김치 helps digestion, I suggest: 오이김치, 파김치, and 무김치 instead of just 배추김치.
-Don't eat right before or after exercising. Allow thirty minutes before and after.
-If you don't mind the smell, eat some 된장 찌게 or 청국장 in the morning. Great for your digestion and it has a lot of protein [fermented beans+tofu].
-Don't eat late at night, and don't lay down right after eating.
-If you can get your hands on some Amway Daily [multi-vitamin], GREAT! biggrin.gif
-Since you shouldn't be eating too much fish, try getting your hands on a fish-oils supplement! It's really good for you!
-This probably won't happen, but try some 인삼 보약! It's expensive if you get one of the good ones, though... D;
==========
That should be just about everything... Feel free to correct me, anyone. biggrin.gif

cutting calories is really important in losing weight. i know people say that cutting calories is going to make you gain all the weight back later on, but to actually see results you need to cut calories. it just depends on when to stop.
i would start off cutting a couple hundred for a few days and stop to where you kinda hungry but comfortable. then after you get used to it, cut back some more. but never get too crazy. i used to do this for pagents and i started seeing food in the hallways at school.

also 12 hours a week is alot. actually excercising can get in the way of dieting. i would also switch your dinner time meal and your lunch time meal. follow the whole 'large breakfast, small lunch, and even smaller dinner' rule. smile.gif

good luck!
