What Was The First Dish You Cooked By Yourself? And... what was the first dish you made that you were proud of?

I'm not talking about instant noodles, wraps, hot wings from a box, box of macaroni, etc. lol

I'm talking about dishes that is something your mom or dad would make! tongue.gif REAL food. It is a dish that you thought was filling and yummy before you cooked it tongue.gif
If you read and understood my question, you should be able to answer these next questions:

-Was as it decent? Horrible? or surprisingly GOOD?
-Did you have a recipe on hand, or did you wing it?
-Did you have someone as your taste tester? lol

I haven't really cooked my own dish yet, but I'm going to try this week. My brother will be eating it with me! haha I'm going to try a stir fried dish biggrin.gif
If you have a recipe for a beginner like me, please post it! I'd like to try =)

Well the first thing I cooked was probably eggs or rice.
But the first dish I cooked that I was really proud of was a kind of stirfry?
It basically had ground beef with cilantro, green onions and a lot of seasoning.
I thought it was really good.

Sadly that's one of the two things I can cook and be proud of. HAHAHA XD

I remember I was around 10 back then, and I wanted to be a busy body so I went to the kitchen to cook salad chicken...and I asked my housekeeper for help haha, she read the menu while I poured and fried the ingredients...

It tasted ok, not so bad but it was a bit salty...

The first dish I ever cooked that I was actually proud of was a lasagna I made with my sister and friend. It turned out really good because we all helped out and the dish itself isn't hard to make. There was too much to clean up afterwards though.

The first dish I made all by myself was lasagna from scratch. Surprisingly, it turned out good. My kitchen was a mess though. Noone had to be rushed to the hospital for food poisoning and the house didn't burn down so all in all, I think my first experience with cooking came out well. laugh.gif

Don't remember the first dish I cooked but my first PROUD dish was claypot chicken rice -it was lipsmackingly good! Served it for dinner and my family loved it (and requested I cook it again biggrin.gif ) so I felt pretty darn good that day haha.
I love it when something you cook turns out so well -I sit there admiring my 'art' hahahha (sad I know).
