I've been thinking about it myself whether I should waste my time doing it. In my situation, there's this little freshman brat who keeps muttering "ching chong" and other racist stuff around and then run off. What a freaking coward, I don't even know him. It really pisses me off.
To keep it short, I'm the ONLY Asian at my school. That's right, 0.1% of the population! Everybody else is either African American, Hispanic, or OTHER. Even so, my school are mostly filled with considerate people and they don't dare to be racist around me because we're all friends. I'm mostly close to the seniors, juniors, and sophomores so it makes sense if that kid don't really know who I am. (I'm a senior btw) So pretty much, I'm that Asian token buddy.... with lots of backup, of course.
That little freshman brat is the only kid who's been giving me problems right now. Should I call him out and lecture him or should I just let it go? It makes me angry just to think about it. I don't appreciate being name-called or being laughed at. I've had similar situations like this before and it really bothers me when I just walk away and try to ignore it because that single comment can irritate me for the whole day. Man, I have some hardcore friends who offered to kick his butt for me though.
How about you? When was the last time that you stood up for yourself?
I hope this is in the right section.
