OK, anyone who has traveled to Italy knows they have this incredible mind blowing dessert there called Gelato. I happen to live in America, which makes it very difficult to get access to Gelato. Yes, I know there are plenty of places in America that claim to sell Gelato, but it is so far from the real thing that you only ever feel heartache when eating it - because it is such a defamation upon the name.
Well, I'm craving Gelato and am going to attempt to make some tonight. I have my ice cream maker lined up and ready to go, and a recipe that claims to be the real deal... but, before I go wasting my time on this unproven recipe, I'm curious if anyone here has a recipe for Gelato that has been tested and shown itself to be the real deal?
Also, if you've made Gelato before, I welcome any tips or advice. smile.gif

Hi! Hi! I've never made gelato but love eating it especially the hazelnut gelato topped with melted nutella and crushed hazelnuts. Since I've never made it before, I have no tip to offer. Sorry buddy. You're out of luck.. sweatingbullets.gif But I did the next best thing. I googled recipes for gelato and some of them have reviews which has tips happy.gif Remember if it turns out right, you can thank me by sending me some gelato.. I know your wife and kids will enjoy it..

Thanks for the links! I now have a whole bunch of recipes to try. biggrin.gif The only thing I'm worried about is the slow churn - my ice cream maker has only one speed, so I can't churn it slowly like you're supposed to for gelato. mellow.gif
