Ive recently found this article, and for most of the part, it's scared me.

QUOTE
The scientific evidence, however, shows quite clearly that sunscreen actually promotes cancer by blocking the body's absorption of ultraviolet radiation, which produces vitamin D in the skin. Vitamin D, as recent studies have shown, prevents up to 77 of ALL cancers in women (breast cancer, colon cancer, cervical cancer, lung cancer, brain tumors, multiple myeloma... you name it). Meanwhile, the toxic chemical ingredients used in most sunscreen products are actually carcinogenic and have never been safety tested or safety approved by the FDA. They get absorbed right through the skin (a porous organ that absorbs most substances it comes into contact with) and enter the bloodstream...

The sunscreen myth: How sunscreen products actually promote cancer

The author provides heaps of information about the sunscreen scam and how the products made are harmful to our own well being. He also writes about increasing protection against the sun through a natural means.

I just thought I'd like to share this with you fellow Soompiers; I apologize if this has been posted about before though. Just wondering if you guys think this is believable or not, because I'm ready to chuck out all my sunscreens.

But then again 350,000 years ago, we didn't have all these CFCs destroying our ozone. :/
This article is really interesting, considering the fact that I actually wear sunscreen a lot.

Lack of Vitamin D is bad, but lack of sunscreen is also bad since that promotes skin cancer.

My disease prevention teacher advised: stay out 15 minutes in sunlight for daily dose, then put on sunscreen. smile.gif

So don't be stupid and throw out your sunscreen. Just make sure to get enough Vitamin D every day.
