Eat 6 big meals a day. By big I mean big, i'm not saying like 2 slices of pizza = meal.
Try half a large pizza to a whole one. Of course you have to work up to this slowly
but it will happen. What I do when i'm trying to put on size
is keep eating until i can't put another thing in and then try to add a little
more. Eat calorie dense foods such as oats. There's really no secret to
gaining weight. If you are a very active person then you need even more calories.
You should be gaining weight at 3500 calories a day. Maybe even less.
Start counting calories and start eating. For some added calories try drinking milk with at least half
your meals. Many may disagree with this but eating before bed isn't a horrible
thing unless you're loading up on carbs which would most likely turn into fat.
Take it one day at a time. Just try to meet caloric intake everyday.
At the end of the week you'll be pleased if you met the intake requirements
daily. You should be able to put on 1-2lbs a week. There will also be a lot of people telling
you to eat more of this type of food or that type of food. You can listen to them but this method is tried,
trusted and true. Ask any athlete who has put on size. Any further questions feel free to ask.
Get dedicated, stay dedicated, or fail.

Hello! You might want to see a psychologist and nutritionist about gaining weight. The reason for psychologist is for the emotional problems which made you lose weight. Nutritionist is to make a plan on gaining that weight back healthy and to make sure you gain it and keep it.
Since you're still 17, you might have a fast metabolism for the next couple of years. Just make sure to eat a full, healthy diet and maintain it.

But just because you want to gain weight doesn't mean you should overindulge in unhealthy foods. :]

I tried the proteins/weight gainers shakes, didn't gain a thing. DO i have to work out for it to work?

Proteins/weight gaining supplements are for people who want to put on lean
muscle mass through training. It assists them in doing so. Taking them without
training does little. If you're just taking a weight gainer on top of 2 meals a day
it's not going to do anything. If you do it with 4+ meals a day maybe. However,
if you don't train it'll just be fat. Either way I would not recommend this alternative.
Simply eat more. Refer to my initial post.
