This bothers me a little.

People still seem to think that the internet is a haven for paedophiles and weirdos.
That you can't trust anyone you meet online.
And that any couple that meets online, is not serious and cannot last.
That any connection you establish through the internet rather than RL,
somehow doesn't compare to meeting people in person first.


But the internet is a wonderful, wonderful thing!
And there are almost no limits, to what you can do with it.


I became kinda famous in fall last year (singing in Korean, DGDY, all that jazz. Ilu YouTube! XD)
And while I was in discussions with a company to be brought over to start training
I started talking to a guy on myspace. Turns out we had loads in common, a great connection,
and lived really close too! Started talking more on MSN and meeting up loads in person too.

And eventually I chose him over the potential singing career.
Because there was just something about him, I couldn't leave him behind.
He's my first So it was really nervewracking! But it's all gone brilliantly and...
We got engaged recently ^_______^!!! <3


Also, Sharon [the other half of DGDY] was contacted by a Korean named SungJoo
Who really loved her voice ^^ they got talking on msn and skype, and started falling for each other!
So they got together too, taking it in turns to visit each other.
I've known Sharon for years, and I've never seen her so happy!
Even though SungJoo lives in London and she lives in the Netherlands,
they make it work, and she's going to move over here to England next year!!


Anyone else have stories of how they or people they know got together?

It can happen, people are just skeptical cause of all the misinterpretations and propaganda about the internet.
I know people who met off games and got married. (: ... and my friends got kids! Ha.
My aunt and my uncle met off the internet too, and have a beautiful baby boy.

I guess the internet could be a good thing but you have to be very very wary and cautious.. I don't think I'd ever date someone from online :X

My cousin likes to play these online yahoo games (LOL) and she met this guy there. They ended up falling for each other, except he was out of state. They would visit each other occassionally, and eventually they got married :] theirs was the best wedding i've ever gone to muahahha. the only thing that makes me ]:< is that she moved to his state ;_; they had the wedding here, but moved there. i guess it was a trade off!? lol

they've been happily married for 4 years and have a son that's about 2 yrs old now I belive :]

I know this girl who went to my school...she met a guy on myspace who lived in texas and before her senior year she went to go live with him and now they're engaged
but she ran away from home...without telling her parents...that's setting yourself up for some trouble haha

I totally understand, not to be mean but I think the girls that

I notice a lot of older people think that there are paedophiles on the internet all the time ... probably because they've been watching too much of the "How to catch a predator" show, haha.

I met my boyfriend a looong time ago when I was just entering high school online. We hit it up, met each other every few months and I just moved down here this year to be with him. Nothing too special, hahahaha.

it was really weird because when we met in person we found out that our dads were actually good friends and my dad was best friends with his uncle and they were going to set me up with his cousin
